Doom vs FO:POS

DarkShade1989

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Doom I-II Compared to Fallout: POS

Graphics:
Doom: 3D environments with 2D inhabitants.

POS: Crapy 3D environments with crapier 3D inhabitants that look as if someone took Doom's 2D creature and wrapped them around a cheap model.

Story:
Doom: Mutants from Hell take over Mars Bases.

POS: Unknown; Suspected no story exists.

Dialogue (Spoken):
Doom: Feral grunts and death cries.

POS: Combat taunts that would amuse a four-year-old.

Dialogue (Written):
Doom: Short blurbs about the story.

POS: None. The developers cannot read or write. (l33t speak doesn't count)

Advertising Campaign:
Doom: Distributing "shareware" demo copies to get people interested.

POS: Using thongs and promises of "kewl particle effects" to lure "hardcore" (ie. braindead) console action gamers.

Conclusion:
What is worse: The fact that an ancient (by technology standards) games beats today's "best"; or that a company would actually fund that crap? In the end, today's lesson is: DON'T BUY POS!

OH GOD LMFAO! That is very very true! Sad but true. The more and more I see about POS the less and less I want it. Blech...the premade characters look horrendously rediculous. Even worse they are taking away the fact that in fallout you are supposed to be allowed to make your character how you see FIT. But noooooo. Oh well...they'll pay when this game goes to hell. Lol good points about doom though! Latez all.

I hate Fo:Pos, but what you are doing is pretty stupid...

The original Doom can beat a lot of new games... Heck, Fallout is old.

Fo:Pos isn't bad because old games beat it... It's bad in it's own right, comparing it to a game a lot of people might consider one of the best games ever is kinda silly.

Got to agree with Dan. Just another disgruntled Fallout fan anger thread...the good thing is that your invited to join in.

First of all, it was just meant to be a joke. But I gotta vent that anger somehow  .

I'll admit it was pretty unfair. Maybe I should have compared it to Fallout Tactics. To see which one is the worst Fallout. No, wait. That would still be unfair.

To finish:

I said:

if you want to find a good game to compare F:POS to, try Syndicate. it is a decade old action game with issometric view, lots of big weapons and plenty of baddies to combat - kinda similar to Chucky's masterpiece. even though it's older than my grandma, it still beats FOBOS! and there is also a sequel called Syndicate Wars, which is so much better than Fallout POS that any comparison between the two is pointless.

I loved that old dos game! I could never get the sound card to work with it, but what a blast!
Upgraded all my cyborgs and kicked ass. :D

once i invited my friend over and decided to show him Syndicate Wars. i had all four agents fire satellite rain at the same time, just to impress him...now THAT WAS impressive. buildings collapsing, vehicles exploding, craters getting created in the middle of the street...i can't believe that Syndicate Wars (which is six years old!) still remains the only game with such amazing interactivity.

Syndicate Wars (or the original, Syndicate), all of those were so damn good, and already beat Fallout: POS.

btw., what's the deal with that Church of the new epoch ending in Syndicate Wars? i didn't speak English so well back then, so i never figured out what happens after you beat that last mission (you know, the one on the Moon.)
