Driving playlist

Threepwood

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
So I have a car now, I'm looking to make a driving playlist and burn it to a CD, does any one have any favourite tracks/songs or anything they could recomend?

Unfortunately the best music for driving is also the worst. Stuff that will get your adrenaline rushing would probably cause you to create an accident. You could go the opposite way and play relaxing stuff, but then you might fall asleep and still create an accident.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I've made several driving playlists in the past and found that 60s/70s rock/blues is pretty damn good for that purpose. Stuff like CCR, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and so on.

Keep in mind I've never actually driven a car. It's mostly for when I'm going out of town with friends, and most of them seem to like it well enough.

If you can, find The Commitments film soundtrack, which includes covers of many popular soul songs, covered by the eponymous, fictional band featured in an eponymous film. It's a pretty good film, too.

However, I'm on the same page as PlanHex - have never actually driven (the long distance). But plenty of people I know like it quite a lot, so try it out. Catchy, moody, but not distracting.
