It's basically a worst-case scenario, not necessarily what WILL happen. Just what may happen. Don't be afraid, but do try and convince folks in power that they should care about this.

Bullocks, plain and simple, Bell is getting hit hard for it's throttling practices already, if they think that censoring the internet by creating a 'subscription method' is going to work they're sorely mistaken as there isn't enough content on -ONE- page to equate to a full on television channel.

There are some experiments in Texas with bandwidth limitations as far as Time Warner is concerned, however it's estimated to flop but good with anyone but the casual email user.

As for the issue at hand, this has got to be bullshit.

Even with the popularity of microtransactions growing over in the east, I can't see how any ISP would be willing to commit suicide by attempting to force that business model down their customer's throats.

Not MY INTERNET!! I love my internet the way it is, anarchaic and funny! The internet is the Human Hive Mind, given technological form and shape. Its one of the better technological advances in the world. If they make my internet become TV, there will be a war...
 
If they did do this, they would loose nearly all their business. Doubly so if living expenses rise like they are currently; And the moment the moment it starts crimping on the economy governments will severely kick their ass. As I assume is happening in Europe?
 
If that happens, it won't be permanent, becuse it would cause so much protests, and finally internet would open again.
