In other news Game Informer made Mass Effect 2 it's Game of the Year and RPG of the year.

Proving that space is the place if you want to win the award race.

Yeah forget a great story (albeit extremely linear) very good graphics, decent engine that does pretty much everything well, strong AI, top notch voice cast and fun gameplay...

But yeah space is what its all about.

Don't get me wrong; I loved NV, but it overcomes its crappy engine and ho-hum gameplay with a great story and voice cast. IMO if the engine and graphics were designed around the game rather than the other way around it would have been GOTY worthy. As it is its a great game with some flaws. I can deal with that.

Besides; GOTY seems to be more of a marketing thing than an actual merit based evaluation.

You sure cant talk about Mass Effect. Because when it comes to the story it definetly wasnt better compared to New Vegas. Both have their moments and "wtf" situations. NPC interaction is in Vegas even Better because your character actualy is saying what you choose, how anyone can like this one-word-dialogue choices is something I dont understand. To many times you simply dont know what your character will say. What I give the game is that it has neat visuals and a really well done show. But letz not get confused here Me1 and Me2 (even more so) are action-games to the core. Not that Vegas isnt a first person Shooter with RPG elements but as said it really isnt much behind Mass Effect. Except for the visuals (but I doubt Me offers the same open world as Vegas so they both aim here with a slightly different experience). - And ME is really a simple good vs bad storyline while Vegas at least really tries to be sometimes in the "midle".
