In Fallout 1.5 a holodisk tells of an incursion into the vault by Hudson, Hicks and Velasquez. The 2nd level is overrun by Wanamingo aliens. The Mutant hunters are blamed for putting them there? As Hudson, Hicks and Velasquez are characters in' Aliens ' maybe the Weyland Yutani corporation sold the mutant hunters a job lot.

The Mutant Hunters got the Wannamingos from PROGEMA, a West Tek like research facility where the creatures were developed before the war as bio weapons. The prototypes got left in stasis when the government shut down PROGEMA and redirected its personnel to either West Tek or the research site that would eventually become the base of the Rebirth to work on the machine to counter mutation.
One of the prototypes woke up and managed to escape but the other one was recovered by the Mutant Hunters.

So an egg laying Queen must have been the one left ? Maybe cloning vats :). The ghouls that worshipped a pig rat must have been an offshoot cult then. How many vaults in Fallout lore did not have a nefarious purpose? Jeez that Vault Tec company musta been like timeshare scams, bastards lol

Both the Wannamingo that left and probably headed to Redding and the one the Mutant Hunters recovered were capable of laying eggs. The Mutant Hunters must have breeding them for their invasion of the Empire's Vault.
I rather liked btw that in Resurrection's take it was a Vault Dweller descended government that was the most advanced force in the region outside the Rebirth Ghouls.

I would agree with that as the vault had thrived to a degree and all empire citizens were shown as very fortunate in their day to day needs. The doctor is aware that the doctors in Albuquerque are body snatchers. Had the rogue doctors left the vault/empire or were they a separate entity ? I thought the Mutant hunters base(overground) was part of the vault as the circular staircase is vaultlike.

I think they are a separate entity that was established later.

No. After the first attack by the Rebirth on Albuquerque the Empire had suffered significant losses that they had to get into an alliance with the Mutant Hunters who themselves already posed somewhat of a threat to protect the city.
In return the Mutant Hunters demanded supplies including the materials with which they had their own base build with.
The Mutant Hunters demanded more of the Empire's resources but the Emperor refused to cooperate further with than what was stipulated in their alliance treaty.

Yeah, sorry I had read that but forgot that the hunters built their base. I remember an Imperial guard saying after another attack the mutant hunters virtually let the ghouls in so this made me wonder of their intentions. I took the route of helping anonym who knows the mutant hunters want to take the vault o I willingly torched the aliens.

The Mutant Hunters' intentions are mostly self serving.
It is not just about defending humanity from mutants like Ghouls and Super Mutants, but also to acquire property, wealth, and power for themselves.

Remember that quest with the mother who seeks to get someone in the Empire to adopt her little girl because she happened to be born with an extra toe?
The mother tells the player that if the Mutant Hunters learn of this that they won't just come for the girl but they will also take all the property of her family for the crime of hiding a mutant, that all being legal/allowed because of the fear and hate the Rebirth have created about mutants.

I may have blown that quest you mention. I can not get the woman to talk .If you mean the woman and young girl near the trader. I had a go at 1.5 a while ago and had traipsed about a lot so my character had grown an extra toe, maybe I never checked my rads enough. PS, I've just triggered that quest after chat with trader :)
