Fallout 1.5: Resurrection

Morbus

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
It’s not dead. The mod, I mean. “Fallout 1.5: Ressurection” is a Czech Fallout 2 mod currently under development by Resurrection Team. Its website has just been updated, specifically its English section, with screenshots, a “Game Sample” page and some other stuff. There’s also a FAQ:
Where and when will it take place?
Time-wise it will be between Fallout 1 and 2. Geographically it will take place in New Mexico, therefore east of the future NCR, thus east of the Fallout 1 map.

How big will the game be?
Number and size of locations will be similar to Fallout 1, however the number of quests, and especially number of ways to solve them, will be much greater than in Fallout 1.
Interesting stuff. Here’s their last words on today’s newspost:
Since March the work definitely didn’t slow down, and in fact was going full throttle. As you’re probably more interested in the current state of development, we’ll try to be specific: All maps are done. Most of the texts are done with the last location being worked at right now. About 75% of all scripting is done. The graphics are mostly done, what remains are a few minor things as well as the ending screens. We’ll inform you about the progress of the development. We plan to post updates much more frequently than until now on the previous webpage.

So keep your fingers crossed… oh and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Link: Fallout 1.5: Resurrection Website

Thanks Ratman and Mr. Lizard.

wow. I forget about that one.
Seems this one IS going to make it.

I can't seem to open the screenshots..
Ah well. keep up the good work guys!!

Fan Made Fallout is supposed to release their demo by the end of 2007. It's pretty sad because I was (kind of still am) a part of that team and I don't really know if they're actually going to make it. I wish FMF good luck, though.

This mod seems to have come really far, though, and I congratulate them. I hope to play it soon.

Aye, thought that it would be dead. Nice to see, I am looking forward to this. :)

Well, it's a bit unexpected, I thought that they were dead (Fallout community in the Czech Republic is quite small and nobody expected this, so it's even more surprising).

Fan Made Fallout isn't going to make it? Are you sure? And if not, what people should I or Mr Lizard try to convince to join BGE? Because BGE is going to release some update too (soon, soon, it was supposed to be out by the end of October), not a demo, but at least some nice art.

From what I can tell the biggest problem for most Fallout mod projects is a lack of scripters (the people who link all the dialogs to the quests, the items to the quests, and so on and so forth). Probably mappers too..

Anyways It's nice to hear a complete Fallout RPG mod is finally going to make it.

In regards to FMF we'll find out whether they're going to release the demo, cancel the project, or stall the release within 15 days because they said they'd release the demo in 2007.

Always wanted a game that covered that time period in Fallout. This is pretty big news for me.

No, we have enough scripters. It's interesting, but you can learn to script simple dialogues very fast and you need experts only for complicated things (cars, special quests, items, etc). We mostly lack good dialogue writers (and sometimes artists, and map creators, and scripters too, but it's not that critical).

DU and Ag are stepping back to let another chap have a shot at boss-man* - at least that's how it seems to be panning out. Anyhoo, looks like the project's trucking on into '08.

* Not me.

Nice. I was also under the impression that this mod had died. I'm glad it hasn't

Yeah, they has done only one update during 2007 (until this news) and only in Czech, iirc. Slow progress ftw. :)

I changed my mind - couldn't you have checked (* that those bastards scripted all dialogues in Erebus before you told me to spend several nights translating them? OK, we don't have enough working scripters.

(* Some past past continuous conditional or something here, but I'm to tired and angry to think.

There are others already out there...

complete fallout game mods? like, ones that have new content and all? are there any really good ones?
I'm not the one to say... There's shattered destiny.
