Fallout 1 and 2 steam problem

Hello I'm new to this forum and have just bought Fallout 1 and 2 on steam. The game seems to run but the color is all screwed up and the patch on this site won't install and says that I don't have the right exe file when I clearly do, does anybody know how to fix this because I was really looking forward to playing these games. :crazy: Also here's a screenshot to prove I have the exe.

Well, you forgot to mention what patch you are trying to install, and for what game. Fallout 1 or 2?
Also, steam has probably changed the exe file a bit, and that's why the patch is complaining.

I'll just assume you are taking about Fallout 2 and the high resolution patch.
First you should install killap's unofficial patch (shouldn't play without it), or at least take the exe file from there and replace the steam version. After that you should be able to install the high res patch.
 
Thanks for the help I found a Steam forum that got my copy of Fallout working now I'm going to try the Fallout2 patches you mentioned thanks for the help I'll report back if it doesn't work.
