Fallout 1 - Confusing Ending?

Spoiler Alert: Talks about one of Fallout's endings.

So, I get to the military base, become captured, and then point them to where the vault is, and agree to become a Super Mutant.

I agreed to be a mutant (At least in my eyes I did), yet when they were putting me in the tub o' radioactivity I was squirming all over the place. . . But I wanted to be in there?

Secondly, it shows a clip of the super mutants destroying, and killing everyone in the Vault. . But I thought they wanted to get 'prime humans' to turn into Mutants, so why are they slaughtering them?

The squirming is just something to be expected from someone in that situation even if they do agree to be dipped. It also meant that a separate video would not have to made for whether you agreed or did not agree to being dipped.

The slaughtering at Vault 13 might have just been an example of a show of force to ensure there would be little resistance. The Enclave did this to Vault 13 in Fallout 2 for the same reasons.
