Fallout 1 Music Fix

First time out of the vault
btw hi everyone I just registered :P

I was going to post a question about how to fix Fallout 1 music problem (after searching of course) but I figured it out.

The fallout.cfg in the Fallout folder says that the music path is the usual C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout\data\sound\music (or where ever you have installed).

I checked the folder (and the whole Fallout folder) size and it was a bit over 1mb. I figured that it loads the stuff from the CD and changed the music_path1= to (CD drive):\Data\Sound\Music\.

Well it didn't work. Then I decided to copy the music files into the C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout\data\sound\music\ folder and change the path in fallout.cfg back to the C:\Program Files\etc path.

So the fix is:
Copy the music files from the CD to your Fallout music folder (mine is C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout\Data\Sound\Music\ and make sure the .cfg has the same path there.

So the music_path1= in fallout.cfg should look something like this:
[sound]
music_path1=C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout\data\sound\music

Works for me, hope this helps. Could you moderators make it sticky? :)

Well, it seems like a combination of things that are already in the troubleshooting sticky (manual install + checking config paths).
