Fallout 2 Zeke red keycard bug

Hey guys, new poster here that just started Fallout 1 and 2 for the first time.

I've run into a bit of a problem with 2 (I'm running the restoration patch).

I've completed most of the main and side quests up until the NCR without much wandering. I got a bit lost there and decided to go to Vault 15 (I missed talking to Tandi as I didn't see the path to her location on my first visit). So when I got to the vault, I got the quest to find the daughter, rescued her using speech, then got her back to her mom. I went back to the shack and killed the guards. Couldn't get into the elevator so I went to talk to Zeke, and asked him about the vault.

Now, his dialogue says that he is giving me a red keycard, but it never shows up in my inventory. I reloaded and tried to steal it before talking to him, but it wasnt in his inventory either. Did the same thing again after killing him.

Is this a bug or am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. I did have another save an hour or so back, but it would suck to find out that the problem persists.

You have to talk to Rebecca after rescuing her daughter Chrissy. She would send you to Zeke and then you'll get your access card.

Hey Valcik. I did talk to Rebecca as well before going to Zeke. I thought I may have missed a different step though.

I think this save is bugged as something similar happened when I went to get the book for Beth in the Den. I picked up the book at the graveyard, but when I crossed zones to give it to her, it disappeared out of my inventory. Thankfully it was still in the same place when I went back and was able to complete the mission.

I'm going to reload a previous save and if the problem persists, try playing a new game without the restoration patch as I may have done something wrong while installing it.

I looked at the files and saw no obvious faults. Everything works just fine for me.
That you can't steal the pass card is as it should be, as he is holding it in his hand (so you won't be be able to see it), but killing him should work no matter if you just arrived on the map and have done nothing else.
The card is in his hand right from the start, it is not put there later and he can't lose it in any way except from giving it to you (or you taking it from his dead body). It's very strange and sounds more like something is wrong with your original game files than the RP.
If you want to you can upload your save game somewhere and then I can take a look at it, but first you should probably try to reinstall everything (keep your save files).
Also, you could try to add the Vault 15 Keycard yourself with the Universal Fallout & Fallout 2 savegame editor.

Thanks for the reply, Darek. I just reloaded a previous save and did a test run from Broken Hills to Vault 15 (where I was before I went to the NCR). I did the first quest, talked to the mother and Rebecca, then went straight to Zeke. He gave me the card and this time it showed up in my inventory and I was able to open the elevator.

As far as I can tell, I didn't talk to the daughter last time before going to Zeke and maybe that had some impact...I don't know.

I'm going to replay the previous save again, but I'm going to go back to some previous locations and do some other quests and leveling up (I was getting slaughtered anyway) before going back to the NCR and do everything over. If it messes up again, then I'll reinstall everything. If it continues to do it, I'll bring this post up and send you the saved file.
