Fallout 3 - can you run it?

System Requirements Lab offers a doo-dad to check if your system is up to snuff for Fallout 3, as does YouGamers. Try either one (or both) to find out if your PC can run Fallout 3.

Roaches the size of a man!? Holly cow, those gotta need some shaders to run it.

Gee wiz, just what I want to install on my computer.

Is there a tool to give me my dignity back after I realize I've been Daikatana-ed too?

My computer has already told me that it doesn't want to run FO3. I respect that and will allow it to keep its dignity.

After playing Call of Duty 4 PC multiplayer online, I am starting to regret spending so much on a new computer. Community of COD4 PC isn't as strong as XBOX360s COD community, and xbox live automatic DL and automatic game finding is nice. On the PC no one talks, no one, and if they do you can not understand them. Xbox live you communicate people listen and plans are executed. And trash talking.

The upcoming problem I am going to have is with Left 4 Dead, I don't want to have to go find people to play with, and usually pc games don't have good buddy lists and with no communication I might as well play by myself.

On top of that, I am scared that Fallout 3 won't look much better than if I did play it on Xbox 360, though the mods will be nice, if they don't release the ability to mod I will then be really mad. But I don't have an HD tv and the recent videos look bad at 480 resolution so XBox would have looked worse anyway i guess. My computer was getting pretty old anyway, but it just doesn't seem that I will get as much use out of my computer that I thought I would.

Viper console me. And tell me what system to get Left 4 Dead on, eventually.

Valve's Steam has pretty nice buddy and community systems. And also, if you have a nice connection, your games will always be up to date. Plus, you won't have to put the disc into your PC everytime you'd like to play the game.

My firefox had a heart attack while loading it. I can play Oblivion, STALKER, and various other games so I think I'll be fine. If not then I can always get another card and link em. Not that I have any idea how that works, but supposedly I can do that. :P

Edit: I couldn't remember what the tech is called. It's SLI. Apparently some sorta fancy new thing (new being debatable, I suppose) where you can link two graphics cards together to combine their RAM power.. or something like that.

It's either SLI(for Geforce) or Crossfire(For Ati).
And it's only working nice if you link two cards of the same model. And this mode do not give you a +100% performance, compared to the solo card.

Personally, people not talking is something I would consider a plus:)

It seems like you have never lived until you have been cussed at by a 10 year old because he continously fails to kill you....

Oh noes, Fallout 3 failed to run on my computer

Hmm, exceeding recommended requirements. And I thought I had bought a mid-end PC. Weird thing though, that test. It tells me that my PC fails to meet recommended req for Crysis: Warhead, even though it ran well on very high settings with 2xAA.

Usually the biggest toll is taken in shaders and shadows, and FO3 doesn't look like it has much if anything going on in that department. I'm not even sure that there are shadows in this game, and if there are, it's a really basic shadow map. Crysis, CoD4, and STALKER all use realtime shadows and will run fine on most rigs.

I allready know my rig can't run this that good. It is more for business.

But I can play Fallout 2 on it...and thats all that matters.
