If G4 doesn't work, GameTrailers offers a mirror.

There are several people who made notes, like GameSpot, Eurogamer and Engadget.<blockquote>10: 35 am PT: Prepare for the future, the video tells us. Unfortunately, the future is a nuclear wasteland -- albeit a stunningly rendered one. We see Fallout 3 peering over the devastation and readying his weapon. Todd Howard, Game Director from Bethesda is up. Fallout 3 incorporates everything Bethesda has learned from Oblivion. A live demonstration begins.

10:37 am PT: "You just saw the first half of a trailer that will debut online in just a few hours and on Xbox Live... when we did Oblivion on the 360, we took a lot of risks and learned a lot. We've taken all that learning and applied it to Fallout 3...." Demoing the game, controller disconnected. "I'm good..." A ruined Washington DC is our first sight, with a third-person camera switching to first person as a floating robot whizzes by The PIPboy 3000 is shown (it's on your wrist!) and Todd examines his stats and his "ridiculously violent" weapons

10:39 am PT: You can play stealthily, aggressively and... oh, Todd has gone for the aggressive route. He pulls out a rifle, and targets the body parts of a nearby enemy. He fires a shot, with a slow-mo shaky cam shot showing limbs exploding violently. We're going to like this game. Some cute marching band music plays in the background, rendering a truly surreally violent encounter. Todd switches to a laser rifle and targets the torso of another enemy. Pow, splatter, smile.

10:40 am PT: The world's scale is enormous, with dilapidated strcutures and roads covering the entire field of view. Todd whips out a rocket launcher and wreaks havoc, followed by an EMP grenade which shuts down a robotic baddie.

10:41 am PT: "You can be a good person, a bad person and anyone in-between. A helicopter lands, kicking up dust. The "fatman," a mini nuclear bomb catapult is the response. The camera follows the warhead in slow-mo all the way to its destination. "It's a pretty effective weapon."</blockquote>

Saw it live a few minutes ago. Terrible. My first impression is everything is converted to greyscale and patriotic music plays constantly. Only fans of the originals would pick up on the reuse of combat sounds while using "vats". The most boring demo I've ever seen.

Just a warning, don't turn up your sound while watching the first one.

Oh lord... and I thought, maybe it could be good anyway... Ok, maybe it is just the bad quality, but after I saw this, I am not pleased in any kind of possibility.

My impression is : This looks like a very very very ... *imagine doctor cox going on* ... very bad ripoff of Bioshock. Hell, yeah Bioshock was a damn great game, but it was a FPS. But nonetheless it was much closer to the Fallout series than what I saw in these 2 videos posted, even though Bioshock has a complete different story and gaming world.

What the heck is that noise during the first video?
At first I thought it was Bethesda's attempt at the atonal electronic atmospheric tracks that featured in FO1&2, but apparently it's not...

I agree that it looks just like a generic shooter. The real-time combat is indistinguishable from anything like Mass Effect or Mercenaries, and the VATS cutscenes are reminiscent of third-person slo-mo in Max Payne.

For all their talk of visceral combat, the impact of point-blank firing upon the enemy with Todd's shotgun had little physical impact; the enemy character seemed to just drop a leg and fall over, dead instantly. No clutching? No shrieking? No struggling, gasping, flailing? None of those things would make the game good, but since they talked up the combat so much, I half expected them; they're certainly common in the other AAA-rank shooters. Lame.

And apparently he was able to destroy that turret from a distance of approximately 20 yards with a shotgun; I never saw him fire with that lasergun upon it, yet it was clearly disabled once he came out of cover, even without using the computer. So, apart from the combat system being dumbed-down, obviously we can expect dumbed-down ballistics and difficulty too.

Wow, VATS looks like it's going to be insanely annoying after the first few times going through the slow-mo death scene.

Movie #2 looks like a generic shooter to me

Second that. If the combat is one of the strongest points of the game, well, I can barely imagine how the rest will look like. Just pathethic...

Well, nothing unexpected there. Looks like another FPS, and not a very good one. Can't say I'm disappointed though, I was expecting the combat to suck. VATS animations didn't look very impressive. I imagine they'll get annoying real fast.

I hope we see some non-combat footage soon. And better quality.

What is this in the second video, where Todd is shoting with a shotgun? It looks like a kind of dwarf to me.

Nothing more needs to be said.

Hard to drop any in-depth comments, but I have to agree with Sander. Is this the shit has been hyped to hell and back? I was not expecting much, but I must say that even I was expecting more than what we see in that video. It looks like it will just turn extremely annoying after a few tries with it.

Other than that, well... It looks a bit... bland.

For anyone interested, you can watch a livestream of the whole E3 spectacle here http://livewire.ign.com/2008/e3/index.html

There will be another showing of Fallout 3 tomorrow in case better quality vids aren't uploaded today.

I hate Bethesda and everyone they employ.

The have turned Fallout 3 from what we saw a taste of in Van Buren to a fucking First Person Shooter.

I'll NEVER buy this POS. I won't even warez it. To me it's almost worse than FOBOS because at least FOBOS didn't have the fucking gall to put "3" after word "Fallout".
