Bethesda has released some small details about their Fallout 4 post release plans. First up is the standard free patches with the added promise of adding new features similar to what they released with Skyrim. Second they have revealed that the Creation Kit(seemly not called the G.E.C.K.) will be release early next year. Skyrim's Creation Kit was released in early February after a November release which seems like a fair projection for the Fallout 4 Creation Kit. Finally they are doing a season pass for $30 US, but have revealed they have not finalised plans for what DLC they will add.

Since we’re still hard at work on the game, we don’t know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass.

Yeah. Or I can wait for the GOTY Edition, buy it during a Steam sale and save even more money. Thanks Bethesda for the advice.

You can also.... not buy the game and just watch it on youtube. Because fuck Bethesda.

Yes, that is an option also.

There's also the unlikelihood of it being free on PS+ in a couple years. >_>

EDIT: What's with the double-post stuff. I'm only pushing the Post button once. <_<

Nothing to judge here. $30 is a good price for at least 4 story DLC besides the miscellaneous feature addition ones.

Oh yeah, the 10 dollar Player House mod. Maybe that's why they tried to monetize mods in such a dumb way, it got in the way of heir plans to charge 10 dollars for small vanity additions.

Wow milking fans of all their money, "Buy our season pass for DLC we haven't planned for yet! Give me money cause it just works."

When they say don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, does that mean the DLC will be disconnected from the base game like in Fallout 3? I suppose that it could mean they have references to the DLC in the base game and have a few things for them determined, but what the story and details of the DLC will actually be is undetermined right now. I prefer New Vegas' approach where Obsidian had planned the DLC beforehand while making the game. I would like that BGS has done the same.

We are no strangers to how Bethesda's DLC are, but I doubt they'll do something in the same manner as Operation: Anchorage or Mothership Zeta, which is a good thing.

Well considering they just made the protagonist a pre war soldier and their concept art slideshow showed different aliens, I'll say they wil veyr much do Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta level stupid shit again, and again, and again. Thy probably won't even wait for DLCs to do it either.

Like being able to turn into a ghoul then use space magic to "heal" you so you can become human again when you realize you were locked from a faction or a quest? Wait a Bethesda game with consequences haha, anyways I'm afraid to hear or see what they have in store.

What consequences? You can heal yourself from being ghoul, no problems at all.
You might even become a super mutant and heal that, too. Or a synth. Or anything, and heal yourself if you'd like to do certain quests.

Nuka-Wolf DLC ($9.99)

In the post-apocalyptic hellscape that is Boston, the only thing more terrifying than the roar of a Super Mutant Behemoth is the bellowing howl of the Nuka-Wolf.

For the first time in Fallout history, become a ravenous beast of the night and strike terror into the hearts of your foes!

How are you able to transform into a werewolf?

Radiation + FEV = LOLZ

A batch of FEV was mistakenly transported to a Nuka Cola plant in Boston, and somehow the FEV and the Cola reacted and wild wolves drank it and they became Nuka-Wolves!
"Twilight of the Nuka-Wolves", just to ride on the whole 50's-Sci-Fi-Horror-train.

The other DLC could be to help the BoS to get in a secret vault but access can be only aquired with using one of the machines which can simulate your memories, so you can experience them again. But the safety on the machine is off! So when you die in there you die really! To help the BoS however you have to replay a memory-sequence of your soldier-boy when he was doing his duty... IN OPERATION ANCHORAGE!

I fear for the quality of the DLCs (or main game's campaign for that matter), most likely they will turn out rather stupid and pointless.
The DLCs Obsidian made really felt as if some serious thought was put in them (well in some elements more than other) and I liked how the player's connection with Ulysses played a role in them as well as their connections to the main game's setting, factions, NPCs, lore and so on.
They felt like parts added to FNV, 'completing' it, the main game having references to characters like the Burned Man and Elijah, and telling us more about the NCR Mojave campaign and its conflict with the Legion.
The Sierra Madre, The Big Empty, and the Divide felt like forbidden places, both intriguing and yet also places no sane person would normally come.

The FO3 ones felt just like loose bits tagged on to it. Broken Steel might have had more of a connection to FO3 but I still found it quite worthless.

I would rather wish Bethesda handled the DLCs like Obsidian did; additional chapters to the main game, rather then complete side stories.
