Fallout: New Vegas has bugs. News still at 11.

Don't mean to get too off topic, but check Fight Night if you want to see some really disturbing bugs. The models can get so deformed, that you could call it "Elephant Man : The Boxing Game".
Regarding F:NV it is fine by me if you can solve the problem by resetting the game.

That was one of the funniest things i've ever seen in a game.

Can't wait till Friday, going to be good. I think i was rather lucky with F3 bugs, only ever froze a few times in well over 150 hours of game play.

Dear god this bug is still in the game? That being said it is still just a funny as always. Honestly this makes me think that Bethesda should develop the next Eternal darkness, could you imagine when your psych gets low and honestly can't tell if the game is bugging out or if its supposed to do that?

The mistery that freaks audience out, and - at the same time - the one only true artists can achieve.

/sarcasm off

For those who didn't see, Beth responded to that thing on Kotaku:

Update: Patches are coming. Pete Hines, marketing man at Fallout studio Bethesda Softworks, tells Kotaku that "We are currently working on releasing patches/updates as quickly as possible for Fallout: New Vegas, for all platforms. Announcements regarding the patches are forthcoming." He advises anyone seeing this head-turning bug to re-verify their files on Steam, as the issue is due to a "corrupt mesh file." Also notable: The head-turning bug here was highlighted two days ago in a blog post by one of the game's producers, who identified it as a known bug that was "eradicated" prior to the game's official release.

Those other Bergman blog thingies are somewhat interesting too. Don't think I've seen them posted here...

If funny glitches like that were the only problem I wouldn't care, but there are far worse. People on the Bethesda forums have been complaining about these two in particular:

-In the PC version there is a bug that has been deleting people's saves. Quicksave, hard save, auto save, doesn't matter. It happened to me and I lost four hours. Some are guessing it's related to Steam, since people who pirated the game aren't having this problem.

-Horrible performance somehow related to NPCs. One fix is to use a console command to make their heads disappear (seriously). I've experienced this one as well, with my FPS jumping from 60 down to 20 when a few NPCs are around.

As it stands, the game is quite good. I still haven't encountered any major bugs. Only problems I've been having is graphical errors. Every now and then, a white flash will occur towards the side of the screen, and distant objects will turn white until I move up closer. I still haven't been able to discern if this is a issue with my card, monitor, or if it's just typical gamebryo bullshit.

The save game thing is related to steam-cloud. Just disable steam cloud support for the game in your steam library. They are working on a fix for it.

Courier: "Doc, I think something is wrong, I ain't seeing right."
Doc: "Oh, I think you are..."
Courier: "...Oh f...u...c...k... I want to go home now. Please..."

He's like the Fisto of Goodsprings.

Also, I haven't encountered this humourous bug in New Vegas yet:

Perhaps almost equally as terrifying, especially if it happens in a closed space.

There are tons of people around now on message boards that act like FO3 only had a few bugs and Obsidian introduced them all.

I also had an ' interesting' encounter myself.

I was fighting a raider and just killed it when suddenly it seemed as if the entire ' inside' or skeleton of the raider was removed as she collapsed like a piece of cloth.

Then the game failed and reset.
like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KPnv2TuMj8&t=2m50s
By looking at this I wish Fallout 3 would have more animations for deaths. Like REALY meling the target from lazer shoots and not always the same "pile" of either ash, gree goo or something like that >-<

Wait a second....

I purchased F:NV for the PC, do I need to connect to Steam to install/play the f**king thing?!

Unless you're planning to "fix" that with illegal cracks, yes.
Honestly, I can't blame anyone (who paid for the game!) to do so.

I think they're only issuing patches through steam though.

eh i played through F3 at launch without mods on pc and it was pretty stable for me, with maybe an occassional CTD or random whip lashing ragdoll, but nothing like new vegas, where even walking around and looking at an npc or talking to one sends my framerate from 80 to 20...

Walking around Doc Mitchells house in the begining had my fps dropping 60 frames just by standing in different locations of the same room facing the same direction.

I purchased my copy of F:NV but my computer at home has no internet connection, so does that mean I can't play it unless 1) I get an internet connection or 2) Get an "illegal" crack!?

I hate this anti piracy crap companies are trying to implement, the only thing it hinders is the ACTUAL customers who purchased their products as the "Pirates" out there hack&crack their way through all of the shit they throw against them.
