Fallout: New Vegas live demo today, 17:00 EST

So it looks like "Hands on preview" listed on 1UP site is a behind the scenes demo, that was shown to the reporter. And live demo is still coming up at some point

Man this is so anouying, so I guess I missed the 30 min's of Old Republic at 2:00 pm PT and there is no mention of it on the internet ive looked everywhere. Someone should frap's the live coverage of New Vegas ill be at work tomorrow.

cool, thanks for the link. damn, Sawyer has some nice tattoos.

so, kids are not killable this time either. no big surprise there. but at least it sounded like there aren't gonna be gangs of unkillable little brats running around - apparanlty kids are very rare in this game.

Nice catch. Well, that's probably all for today. Glad something ended up happening. Odd that there haven't been many updates to NMA.

wow, that was a crappy article. left everything out but the "totally awesome" stuff: weapons

oh well, the preview video made me feel a lot better. too bad we didn't get to see that much of interest there either, but so far I'm really liking how things look. I think this might be a pretty big change from FO3 after all. the gaming world seems a lot more vibrant and alive. this might sound like a bad thing for a PA game, but I still feel the PA atmosphere is there.

some details I liked:

- there seems to be more variety in weapons and they seem more interesting than the generically named models in FO3.

- the way they're handling casinos shows that they've really thought about consequences in the game. hopefully this also applies elsewhere, where it may actually matter more.

- being able to sneak in weapons into the casinos. again, hopefully this means we'll get more of these fun little things elsewhere.

- companions actually seem worthwhile and fun.

- walking/running animations are A LOT better. and if my eyes didn't just play tricks on me, I think I saw a soldier running diagonally!

- IRON SIGHTS!

things I didn't like:

- AI seems as stupid as ever. enemy tactics seem to only consist of running towards you out in the open, guns blazing.

- downtown Vegas looked pretty damn dead. I didn't expect, nor did I want it to be crowded, but I sorta thought it would be more lively. granted, this video was during the night so there might be more activity during the day. remains to be seen.

oh, and "Josh Sawyer from Bethesda". lol.

Josh Sawyer from Bethesda hah

I do like that they made playing in 3rd person somthing you might would rather do then play in 1st. We'll see though . . .

J.E.Sawyer seems much more articulate than his Bethesda pals. Glad they let him do the talking ! Oh and his tatoos and NCR shirts looked cool.

That said : the game looks ugly but I like what I see though. The conversations look better than in Fallout 3 and the design is far from awful.

Looks like there's fun to be had !
