Fallout: The Rebirth of Civilization

Thorgrimm

A Smooth-Skin
Sorry I did not post this yesterday, but I thought I was still banned.

Well folks the time has come to post the beta. It is not finished, but it is stable and playable. If you all wish to see it completed, then by all means play the mod, take notes and give feedback!

There are two downloads, the main mod file and the music. I have replaced all of civ's music and ambient sounds with Fallout's music and my special made tin rattling in the wind wave.

If you do not wish to use the music just delete or rename the music.txt file in the main scen text folder.

When you install the mod just unzip it to your C drive. If you have not used the default location for civ, redirect as necessary.

It requires the expansion Conquests and the latest patch for Conquests, which is 1.22

Below are a couple of screenshots from the latest version. Once again it is not finished, but just a good beta.

Here is the location for the mod.

I'm glad to hear this mod is still going, for a while I thought it was dead.

Linkify the pics maybe? They're big.

Per, sure. How do I accomplish that feat?

Basically exchange

Basically exchange tags for [url] tags, then with some optional code-fu make the link text into the descriptions rather than the addresses. I took the liberty of doing it for you.[/quote]

Per, thanks a million. I will copy what you have for future usage. :D

I just got the new Civilopedia gfx from Flamand, so I thought I would show them off to you folks. :joy:

I did not link this one since it is not so wide, so no sidescrolling. :D

Wooz, yeah you are correct. We intend to have the Fallout font, or closest thing we can find, for the mod.

Silencer, yes that would probably help the traffic. It seems that the entire Fallout community is trying to Dl it at once. :D

My WotW Mod is on the same ftp and nobody is having any problems dling that one. I guess too many DL requests at once.

Are you also going to mirror the music and ambient sounds files?

After talking to Flamand about VasikkA's comment about the background color he came up with another City Screen. What I need you folks to do is let me know which of the two you like best. :D

Don't linkify these, I want the side by side comparison.

I've been very anxious to see this mod of yours. It looks very good. But i have some problems mainly with choosing what to build in cities and science tree.

P.S.: I like new city screen better than previous.

Ptero, What you want to shoot for in the first era is Barter and the small wonder Rediscovery of Trade. That is a VERY important wonder in the beginning. Then you want to head for construction.

Since I see that you started with the Ghouls you want to clear out the surrounding radscorp nests, and plant your second city southeast of the lake which is in that direction heading out of Necropolis. You begin with three good units, use these to clear out the radscorps. When you clear out the scorps, you want to begin improving around necropolis to increase your growth rate, to build more settlers. :D

I did MAJOR, and that is an understatement, BIQ work. So expect a new BIQ shortly. After watching four games in debug mode, the AI is FINALLY doing what I wanted from the beginning.
All it took was a major redoing of the map, adding the Wastelands terrian and upping the number of militia units in the cites and redoing the maintenance costs big time.

Upped the attack on the raider scout.

Been doing some unit and building tweaking to finally add the Raiders and Slavers minor civs.

Replaced Aaglo's Manbot with the Fallout Sentry Bot, added the Highwayman, added the Eyebot, and added Mr Handy as the advanced worker.

Also, with the Wastelands finally in, there is a BIG need for the Enviro Armor MG. For you see, only they can work and get rid of the wastelands when the proper tech is researched. They can now do the worker jobs that the regular workers cannot in the wastelands. They are now what you would call Combat Engineers.

Storm Grunt's Fallout tech Icons are in and they are great.
