Lately, I've found myself serfing through the gamespy.com gaming forums and I think I've come to realize, Fallout really is the best RPG ever. In every list I saw fallout (for 10 to games, or rpgs etc.) I always say fallout 1 + 2 in either their number 1 ranking or number 2. Then I asked those that didnt have it in their lists if they had ever played fallout.

None of them had.

So I have come to the conclusion that Fallout is the best RPG ever, just for some reason, noone buys it.

Just wanted to say that...

Anyways... can someone tell me where I can find all the fallout wallpaper? I checked the downloads section but it wasnt their... if anyone could give me a link to a site with it i'd be greatful. Thanks!

I think that Fallout is certainly one of the best RPGs of all time, very probably THE best. But it differs so much from the traditional D&D type sword & magic RPG that I guess it scares some gamers. I adore Fallout, but also am a devote of Secret Of Mana (and of course Seiken Densetsu 3, the RPG that's so good Squaresoft wouldn't let us have it), and Parasite Eve for that matter. It's all a matter of taste.

The Fallout games are the only RPG's I've ever played so I'm probably not qualified to say anything other than they're the only RPG's that've appealed to me. I don't go in for all that Dungeons and Dragons crap. It's probably the fault of Space Crusade (old Games Workshop board game and later made into a computer game) for getting me hooked on cool armour and big guns - probably why I can't help loving the Brotherhood of Steel.

It's certainly underrated by many but I've seen it get the odd nod in reviews of other RPG's. It certainly sets a high standard.

Fallout 3 (and 4) soon I hope...

In my opinion, the Fallout series is by far the best RPG series ever, although I have dont play many others, just Baulder's Gate and the like. However any of my friends who ive introduced to Fallout have gone insane over it, even die hard Ultima fans went out and bought it the next day!!

There were a few things that let it down, such as the fact that your weapon doesnt stay on the charachter when you run (I understand the fact that that was nigh-on impossible to change). Another was the fact that armour was so powerful - super mutants wearing no armour were fried into crispy chunks (oh the JOY of the flame thrower) but raiders often survived becuase of their leather armour!

In my opinion Fallout would have been improved by removing 90% of the ammunition from the game, making you more reliant on stealth, talking, and big sticks, making using a gun a rare occourance and onyl when neccecary... Sorry im off at a tangent arent I....
