A very commemorative date, October 1st:
Project Update: Well, it's done. We shipped Fallout!

Actually, we silvered today, which means that we should be in major stores by Oct 10. So, it hasn't really shipped yet, but the duplication and manufacturing has begun! Shipped, silver - hey, we're done! -- 1 Oct 1997 @ 1615 PST
In the spirit of the previous commemorative date, we bring you 3 more concept arts, this time from the hand of Tony Postma (and with thanks to Feargus Urquhart and Sharon Shellman).

Interesting how they designed the back and the sides of the "dialog interface box device", albeit we never get to see them.

Oh, and all thumbnails point to one pic.

Now, I'm taking bets when Bethesda fanboys (or Toad) tries to use this art as justification that Fallout was going to be an FPS. :)

No one is that stupid

Concept Boiler Room was the concept drawing I was given to create the Boiler Room movies that played 3 or 4 different times throughout the game indicating that the water level at the Vault was getting lower.

Again awesome, just awesome work.

And this means we should congratulate ourselves today, historical date!

Yay! :drunk:

We kinda failed to set on official anniversary date, NMA did. Usually it's when the game goes gold, but there's no announcement on that topic. So you can pick; either when it's silver (today) or when it's in stores (the 7th).

We just use both :aiee:

The control room one was released years ago by MCA.

Oddly enough, I noticed that two weeks ago, when re-checking for duplicates. Odd that I'd forget it.

Thanks for the reminder.

Loved both of these drawings.

Especially the side-view of the speech system. Just nice to know they put in that extra level of detail where it wasn't needed, rather than to be lacking in detail. :P

Happy Day. :D
