Hey guys, I took your advice and wrote to the PC Gaming dude. Here's a cut-n-paste of what was said over the course of two e-mails sent to him and two replies sent back. Hopefully it made a strong point. PS, these were all sent on May 19th, 2003.

Hello there, and thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail.
I've heard that you might be writing an article about Fallout: BOS in a future issue of PC Gamer. As you've probably guessed from the title of this letter, I'm against this travesty to the RPG genre, and I'm hoping that you are as well.
There has been a strong calling in the online Fallout community for years now for Fallout 3 to be made. Recently Interplay announced that they are making Fallout: BOS, which is not an RPG for the PC at all, but rather a Shoot-em-up for consoles. As you can probably guess, this is nothing but a slap in the face for the fans that already love the Fallout universe.
This wouldn't be too bad, but the developers of FO:BOS have butchered the Fallout theme beyond recognition. They've taken the 1950's pulp feeling into a futuristic sex-n-guns orgy as you can see from the trailers and screenshots. Its hard to believe that they've even played Fallout or Fallout 2 as the storyline that is presented in the movie trailer doesn't match up at all. For example, the girl in the trailer is saying that she was born as the last bombs were falling and looks like she is 20 at the oldest. Fallout: BOS is said to be set sometime between the two Fallout RPGs, but the original Fallout takes place 80 years after the bombs fell. This is only one example of the many mistakes that can be found in this poorly made game.
You could just go to the Interplay forums to see how badly fans have reacted to this game, but Interplay has decided to delete and lock the entire forum dedicated to the game and is banning anybody who has anything slightly critical to say about it. How's that for staying loyal to their fans?
If you wish to see more of how fans are reacting to Fallout:BOS, feel free to visit
www.nma-fallout.com and
www.duckandcover.net These are the largest fan sites for Fallout online and there isn't any censorship for talking about Fallout: BOS in the forums at these sites.
Hoping that you see the light,

Hello ******,
Pick up the current issue of PC Gamer and you’ll find this covered in my monthly column

Hey again,
Thanks for the fast reply! Yes, I saw what you wrote about it in the
June 2003 issue of PC Gamer. Surely you must think that such a
dissapointment to the PC gaming community deserves much more than a
small picture and two paragraphs at the bottom of your column. Please
make this much more noticable to the readers so that Fallout 3 may
actually happen before Interplay goes out of business with such
horrible products like Fallout: POS.
Once again,
Ozrat

Of course I do...... but I have no control over the real estate I get to
fill each month. Tell Mr. Smith to give RPGs more space
And just fyi: Fallout Tactics: BOS for PC at least came before the
hybrid the console folks are getting. Sadly, I doubt we'll see Fallout
3, but never say never.
