enclaves

u all talk about killing enclaves, every time i trie to blast a patrol i die even before i kill one of them
i got advanced combat armor, a pulse rifle/pistol 140 hp,10 ap and about 70 stimpac's and 20 superstims
what's da big deal is there a killing enclave trick or something?

Always target the bugger with a Gauss Pistol first. (Awareness helps here) It seems that patrollers with the Gauss pistol have superhuman abilities when it comes to shooting at range. They can shoot me from the very edge of the pistols range and never, EVER miss a shot. I hate that. Then there are the plasma pistol guys. They can also eat through your Advanced Power armor (you did mean adv. POWER armor, not combat armor mk2? because if you're wearing Combat armor then you're bound to die :-)) easily. Priority 1: Gauss pistol dude (or dudes!). Priority 2: Plasma pistol (or was it pulse pistol) dudes. Priority 3: Any others. You might want to get yourself a gauss pistol, because it's FAR superior to your pulse weapons. Sure, you can do damage with them - especially with the rifle, which is perhaps the best energy weapon out there - but they can't match the punch that the gauss pistol has. Low ap cost and high-velocity projectiles - it rocks. Especially with targeted shots to the eyes. Requires a lot less skills than the pulse weaponry.

Then you might want to level up and get the Sniper-perk (along with lots of hp, preferably with level 2 lifegiver) if you don't have it, and just keep trying. A big patrol can hurt even a level 36 character.

if your still having trouble you can always set the game hardness to easy, i personally keep it at the hardest level though :D

Yeah, there's a trick to killing the enclave, actually there are several. First, the easiest: talk to the guy in charge of the reactor (he's on the lowest floor) and get him to shut down the reactor. Second, you can talk to the head of the encalve chemical corps and, if you've got a shitload of good stats (or using the editor, ya damn cheater) you can get him to pump the entire enclave with the modified FEV virus which'll kill everyone except the guys wearing power armor and the president and vice-president. Also, there is a room with one of those huge computers in it and three terminals. Set off a bomb next to one of them and you'll destabilize the core, but this'll cause the alarm to go off and all the guys will come and kill you. But, you'll have to fight frank horrigan, of the us secret service( isn't that the name of clint eastwood in In the line of fire?)because he's the last boss. There, ya beat the game, nice work.
