what happens when u patch the game (exept the save files)
I'm in Vault City now but have a problem up in Gecko... should I install the patch? will it be big differences so I should do it, even if I have to start over (for 3rd time.....)?

I would recommand installing the patch. Your Gecko problem will be fixed (assuming it is the one where the ghouls fire at you for no reason). Also the San Fran BOS computer bug will be fixed, your NPC's will not get pissed at you if you hit them by accident (at least not as quick), etc...

also make sure you use the save game converter once you patch it or you will not be able to play your old save games. this way you will not have to start over.
