FOnline travellog

Yes, it does. There wasn't many quests (and I found it hard to understand any of it due to temporary google-english), but hopefully there will be more!

I read on the FAQ, that a fee would be charged from your account, every time you die.

Are they talking real funds or in game I wonder.

No, they are talking about in-game money. It's a translation error.

Thanks for clarifying; was worried there would be some actual subscription going on.

Looking forward to it in that case!

it's free to play ?

where do i get the mod and a good tutorial ?
There is only the russian version ?

thanks in advance :D

As said right above your post, yes it is free.
For now the game is still under devellopment, what you see are the images of a beta testing. The next one is in fall.
For more information, i direct you (or any other person who read this) to the faq, or to the other fonline thread in the news.

Dumb fucks. The game got overrun by 14-year olds amazingly fast. Fonline team has some serious community management to do.
Hey, I got killed by some prominent people of the fonline forum too!
Don't know their ages thought, but that's the wasteland...
The begining of the game was pretty cool, but the last two days were unenjoyable. (thats why there is no diary for theses days).
I think there were people who began to kill npc to gain xp and stuff, and then, when they had everything (powerarmor, weapon) and could kill anyone with one shot, well they got bored and started killing people too with a special preference for "amerikan" (i havent met any american in the game, but..)
I think we would have the same with english guy, but true, there was really some tension between english speaker and russian speaker. The last days, we were so pissed to be killed every hour, that we decide to kill "some russian" too, at least to have some gear back. Then I suppose the russian will say the english are PK, etc, etc...And that how you start a war...

Hope we will be enought to have our own server next time, would it be only for the fact that the other players understand your insults when he killed you...

UNITY.

Don't feel like explaining the roleplay right now... Will just say it is another way of playing a game, you know, the RolePlayingGame...
Just change a few term, you don't kill people, you "convert" them, there is no PK, but raiders... etc, etc. Just add a different feeling to the game. Maybe weird, but as weird as playing a multi, based on a game made 10 years ago i think. Anyway, I swear to you, it is harmless. :D
Dont know for the Mmo, never played them (beside fonline).

haha. UNITY, OBEY.
Yeah Dude. Obey, obey...

I think that is the mentality that makes nearly all of the MMORPGs that I've played really really bland. Complaining to developers to fix the players ends up with the game getting dumbed down.

What exactly was your complaint? People acting goofy, and running around attacking each other at random? That's my favorite thing to do in MMOs ! What do you suggest the FOnline team do, ban everyone who doesn't say "worship the holy flame"?

I'm not trying to come off as an arse here, I'm genuinely curious.

I guess mostly I'm still bitter about what happened to Ultima Online. The initial release was bug ridden to hell, but I saw a lot of possibility. Unfortunately instead of merely fixing bugs they remade the game so it was as friendly to the lowest common denominator as possible. I personally enjoyed the adrenaline rush of possibly being attacked in killed by any player you encountered outside of the protection of NPC guards. It was frustrating at first, going about your business and then getting ganked and watching as a ghost as some jerk said, "haha you suck newbie!" and then mutilated your corpse. Eventually you learned to fight back, or make a merchant and not leave the cities without bodyguards :)

I should also add that I seriously doubt anyone who downloaded this mod and then pulled .dat files from the fallout 2 folder they've had on every comp they've owned for nearly a decade is 14 years old.

This has had nothing to do with "the Unity".

As said many times now, there wasn't enough to do and the only way to get more exp and ammo/ other equipment was to kill towns and players and so it turned out after a few days.

I realize that, and I wasn't saying anything against the Unity. I only got to log in a couple times and those guys cracked me up. I'm also all for roleplaying inside the game, I love player factions gaining power etc.

I was merely suggesting that instead of the devs "managing" the community, they should make the game work even if a horde of level 1 characters log in, start calling each other fucktards and lobbing spears/grenades at random (and I thought they did a fine job). I only got to log in about 3 times like I said, and something about saying "noob" and punching the first guy I saw in face in the fallout 2 world just made me laugh my face off. I guess perhaps I'm easily amused.

Anyways kudos to everyone who made this thing happen, I'm looking forward to the next test.

wow i've checked out the screens, the story, the news, and the site, and i'm very impressed something like this got anywhere near as far as it already has. and so far it looks rad and amazing. it looks fun too.

i hope i get to be part of the fall testing. i'll keep it in mind.

Good luck everyone, and thanks for doing your part!
