For those Going to the Military

machikaiser

First time out of the vault
I have noticed 2 or more NMA Forum users from usa are going to the military, war ? just wish u guys safe journey, safe going, and wish u luck~

Very nice, why didn't you post this in Carib's thread like everyone else. While the gesture was nice, a new topic is really unnecissary.

Who is joining the military besides Carib?

And no, joining the Emo Corps doesn't count.

Well, I've been considering a career in the military lately... Sadly i already joined so my considerations are rendered moot.

I'm still working on the waivering of my Air Force medical discharge due to a High-Frequency radiation leak on the radar shelter I was working on caused by a mortar-shrapnel damaged segment of waveguide. After getting microwaved (literally) I got a bullshit discharge (I had a great record, great scoring in everything physical, vocational, and mental, but my career field was one of the most overmanned in the service and was being further reduced by contracting it out to civilians so I got kicked to the curb) which I've been trying to flip for months now to get into the Army. Hopefully it'll get turned soon and I can return to service, hopefully this time in a more direct role, preferably field medic.

@josh, sorry, didnt mean to create a new topic, my fault, i just wanted to show that i really had the intentions to support those going into military training.

Heard the easiest Military carrier was Marines, but who knows, my cousins that were in Airborne came out much more pushed to limits, comparing to the marine friends.

Who knows~ different trainings for different military carriers~ most ppl just look for the easiest one~

Marines aren't the easiet Career, MK. I don't know who told you that. Each service is good for something.

Marines are more combat oriented since they are the first to fight. The army is good for long haul occupation and securing an area.

Each has branch has an elite branch, and well I aim for Rangers. Amnd you never know where you go from there.

well, my friend that was marine is from taiwan~ LOL~ taiwan doesnt have much Maritimal Activities~ ROFLMAO~ so... for taiwan marines is easier~ hahahaha~

A period might work better for punctuation. Just sayin'.

Also, good luck Carib with the Rangers. That's some intense shit.

Hey, I saw the Taiwan Marines, they came and visited Dominica soime years back and put on a martial arts show. I saw a guy bust up some bricks.

I have to say all the best to those going into the military/war, as it's a gutsy thing to do. I once considered it, but I can't remember what changed my mind about it.

Anywho, good luck Carib and any others.

Well the whole idea of going to the military isn't going to kick ass. That is a dangerous and unreliable mind set.

I will go in and well what I learn will decide my fate.

I'm glad you realise that the army isn't about all shooting and killing and shooting. As many people think this is the case, and when they get there, they just end up hating their decision.

Just be clear on whether or not that this is the thing for you, but Carib, I think you understand all involved in this so all the best.

not to show off~ but iirc all taiwanese military forces need to learn martial arts as their basis, not the usual how to strip a gun from the enemy or stuff like that~ but martial arts as in.. kung fu. but i believe they can choose more then just kung fu, they can learn taekwondo, ju jitsu, karate, and so on

Oh, good. That should be useful in an age of bullets, armed and armored vehicles, and pushbutton death and destruction. Of course if the movies teach us anything it's that when facing anyone armed with a gun the best thing to be is a martial artist because naturally when facing such a foe any gunman will be compelled to walk into arms length to stand stunned while being disarmed or instead fire aimlessly near you so you can be as dramatic or humorous as you please.

every army teaches martial arts (HtH & melee combat). it's not an asian thing, machikaiser. hand to hand combat and bayonet/knife combat are all part of basic training, no matter of which country you are.

Lerdrit is the most 'realistic/useful' military HtH martial art i'm told.

suaside thats what i am trying to say, thats military basics, HtH, and melee combat thats basic, like how to strip a gun stuff liek that~ what i a m talking bout is KUNG FU, MARTIAL ARTS KUNG FU. sorry my english is not very very good~
