G4 Best Franchise Fan Vote Competition

The Vault Dweller

always looking for water.
The G4 website known for gaming TV have started a contest where fans can vote for their favorite franchise. Currently it's the second round and Fallout beat Civilization in the first now to go up against Gears of War. Which will win? Maybe if you're willing to register you can take part in the vote.

Best Franchises 2011 Competition.

Thanks to Jackie for sending this our way.

I tried to vote, but then I was told I had to sign up for that site.

I'm sorry, but I don't love Fallout enough to sign up to a fucking excuse of wanna be pop culture website to vote for a contest that has no meaning nor value whatsoever.

I didn't either.

Figures they would just use it to get more members though admittedly they have to to avoid getting vote-spammed.

Also yeah G4 is a poor excuse for gaming news or entertainment, but this was the only news for today.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I know this is a "franchise" competition, but seeing Mario against a football game, and Resident Evil against Pokemon is just goofy as all hell.

I actually made the mistake of signing up for this thing, assuming it would be a legitimate vote. It's not. EPIC is offering some kind of bonus to everyone who votes for their game, there are hundreds of spam messages and those that can structure a logical sentence on that website are in the SEVERE minority.

Complete waste of time, don't waste five minutes of your life trying to support your franchise.

Its just depressing to see what G4 has become. Back before it merged with that one video game channel, back when it was TechTV, it was actually a great channel. The Screensavers was an awesome show.

@BN it was during the era in which NBC was considering buying IGN for their hard-hitting investigative journalism and accuracy of determining game quality.

I don't know if anyone has had the misfortune to watch Attack of the Show, but the premise is as follows: Put a complete moron with terrible delivery in charge to appeal to nerds. Make a smokin' hot girl his co-anchor in order to appeal to nerds. Instead of reporting on games, find out what games the most people are playing, and reflect on them in a positive light. Make hot girl dress up as a maid and jump into a giant cream pie.

Rinse. Repeat.

Seeing the comments, I mean come on...
All those commentators don't know jack shit about original Fallout series so the point of voting for such a stupid competition or making them understand what Fallout is and what Gears of War represent is like making a skunk fart at a bulletproof glass without the mask on your face. It yields no result and gives a shitload of "never played anything besides xbox, me is the best" spammer kind of flaming.

If dumbasses like those can make a competition, can't NMA make one and make it more public to others?
Strictly Fallout that is.

I'm surprised to see Fallout actually leading, if only by 3%. At first I smile but then a shudder takes over because I remember this may well be due to F3 fans.

Very stupid article, no offense to NMA. So.. a solid game franchise versus a console trash FPS clone/or whatever. Hrmm? Ok, moving on. :)

I read a comment on the page that said that Fallout is forgettable. Haha. Perhaps I really am an old fart now (naa.. I'm 22), but games like Halo/GOW are all forgettable. To be honest, I really can't stand 90% of ALL multi-player games. The only good multi-player games are all on the PC. Almost anything Blizzard makes and games like BF2. I mention BF2 because out of EVERY fps on the market, none of them come even close to the great battlefield moments that BF offers. Games like COD fail because of the shitty close quarters level design and fake knife stabs. Almost everything about COD is total shit, its like a CS clone. I even dislike CS(Counter Strike). Games like that are just terrible generic FPS multi-player games. But these are my opinions and I'm sure many people on here might disagree with me. Oh well. :)

I've been voting for Fallout and TES for the fanboy representation. The comments are quite saddening though because I'm not sure if the people posting are just foreign or if they really can't speak or spell coherently:

"a game for wooses try X3 thats a proper game i spent 3 months of my life acutal playing time and i barily scrached the surface of that game"

It's also a real shame that games like Starcraft are beating out TES. Talk about lopsided comparisons.

Go StarCraft!!!

This voting thing is kinda pathetic.
How desperate are guys who are running that site?

Ahaha, it beat Gears of War

But now it's loosing to Assassin's Creed (partly because butthurt GOW fans are voting for AC out of spite).

I'd rather play a new Assassin's Creed from Ubi Montreal than a new Fallout from Bethesda. By that measurement, should I vote AssCred too?

Wait, this is sarcasm or that was actually a time like that for IGN?

X-Play (G4s video game review show) is actually a decent show except when it comes to evaluating RPGs. I stopped taking their RPG reviews seriously when their best of 2009 award for best RPG went to "Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story" OVER Dragon Age Origins. Sure Dragon Age has it faults, but come on...Mario and Luigi, seriously?

Besides XPlay (when not reviewing RPGs), the only other decent thing they show is Ninja Warrior.
