There are tons of good game musics in the world!
So shall we introduce that music each other?

for me, for now

This is really awesome!!!!
it's from STALKER CS. you can hear it at stalker base in agroprom.

you can download it legally at http://files.gsc-game.com/st/stk-soundtrack.zip here.

For Fallout series,
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/tfrQR6X_qaw?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0"></iframe>

you can hear it near camp guardian, sarsaparilla factory, etc while in combat.

and
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Y5RsgMo_i3A?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0"></iframe>
I guess all of you know about this song.
you can hear it at military base(both 1,2) and broken hills.

Ah... yes...
Both Arcanum and Divinity has great music.
I love both.
For TES, I prefer Morrowind though oblivion's music is also awsome.
and arranged Daggerfall's music is also awesome.

Ah yes, Daggerfall. I still wistle the "Snowing" theme whenever it's snowing in winter...

So everyone already posted Western Game music, and that's cool, but let me be a dirty Weaboo now:

There's a Phoenix Wright Jazz album?! How comes the charts didn't mention something as awesome as that?

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xzGEiER7mkc" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Sucker for fast acoustic guitar playing.

Oh yes, it's quite awesome.
The classic (and classy) course of action is to grab a cup of tea, put that album on and have Rainy Mood in the background.

Yup, and it has Godot very intensely playing the Sax on the cover. You can't get cooler than that.

Well, since someone mentioned Nocturne...

This thread's lack of Doom and Duke is disturbing.

I would post the metal remixes (which are pretty badass), but I think they've been overdone.

Just did a playthrough of this game and damn, is this soundtrack awesome. Really added to the game in so many ways.

These from Kyuuyaku megami tensei series.

I'm not a big fan of SC, but this is legendary:

I've got 90s internet at the moment so do your own tubing if you want to.

Lotus 2
The Great Giana Sisters
IK+
Last Ninja
Flimbo's Quest
Flashback
Space Crusade title

Lots of old NES games have some pretty awesome tunes.
Castlevania 1-2
Mega Man 1-3 (MM2 Wily's Castle stage 1 stands out, and Spark Man, Top Man from 3, Quick Man from 2, Cut Man from 1, Wily Stage from 1, ah they're all pretty good.)
Metroid
Blaster Master
Gradius
Goonies 2
Zeldas
Snake Rattle'n'Roll
Duck Tales
Metal Gear
Shadow Warriors
Balloon Fight, Wrecking Crew and Bubble Bobble are some of those one-song games, but the one tune in them is pretty unforgettable.
Kid Icarus is one of those where I like one song (stage 1) but the rest is pretty boring.

I'm also a big fan of the music from Final Fantasy (guilty pleasure?), mainly 7-8 beacuse I really haven't palyed many of them. The music in 9 is pretty boring compared to 7-8 iirc. 9 is just fucking boring through and through, innit?

Frank Klepacki has made some cool stuff, peaking with Dune 2 and then declining steadily through the Command & Conquer series.

And Fallout's music is obviously great, too. Arcanum's music is pretty good but it's pretty damn intrusive while playing the game. Homeworld has some good tracks as well. Max Payne 1-2 had invredible title music, and the graphic novel tracks were pretty great, too.

I bet our perception of a lot of these tunes are colored by our experiences while hearing them, though.

I'm forgetting loads of stuff here, obviously.

Could some moderator please put the multi-video posts in spoiler tags please? I am very interested in the topic, but it takes pretty long to load this thread, even on a new PC with pretty good internet connection..

This is a terrible thread that makes my browser cry with all the youtubes.

Still, must put this here:

More Japanese music. Because this thread doesn't have enough.

And now for something completely different

Soul Calibur had some rappable beats back in the day.

I am ... pretty shocked by this.

That no one has mentioned so far probably one of the most influental tracks of SNES history.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=226lyvZmNB8

Secret of Mana of course!

Why? Well it won countless awards and the composer Hiroki Kikuta really mastered the 16 bit tone of the SNES.

I think its a bit sad that modern games somehow lose this feeling though as everything is now either orchestral, classic or done with digital machines that offer a lot more then 16 bit. Not saying that there is anything wrong with that! But those old SNES games had simply their own charm. The Sound too. Its like looking at this really old pictures which have their own style. Simply timeless.
