Games Radar looks back at the future

"Why wait?" is not just a huge sales argument for ACME Earthquake Pills, but also the idea behind Games Radar's "Preemptive 2008 Game Awards" feature, starting with the category "Best GTA IV competition" and working its way onwards from there.

Fallout 3 doesn't make "Game of the year", where Spore, GTA IV and Super Smash Bros. Brawl reign supreme. Neither does it make it into the "Best RPG" category, finding itself beaten by Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Final Fantasy XIII and who knows how many others. And no, it doesn't have the "Best blood sprays" either. However, there is one category where it limps in at third:
Will incite the most anger if effed up

2nd Runner up: Fallout 3

Bethesda has some difficult expectations to meet. As long as their vision for Fallout 3 is no less than awesome, the rabid Fallout fans should be appeased, and no bloodthirsty mobs will gather outside of their offices.
So I guess the most spectacular thing about Fallout 3 on the top games scene is actually... we? (Oh, and it didn't make it into this one either.)

Actually, the bloodthirsty mobs are forming because Fallout 3 is nothing like Fallout awesomeness.

Okay a little bit of an overreaction but I really hate these kind of articles, kind of telling fans what they should think.

since we will have to gather outside their offices... who wants some hotdogs? pre-order saves money! I'd be willing to rent some forks too...

Aargh!

This happens to me all the time. :(
yeh it didnt make it in that one... at least not yet... but dont give them those ideas or we will soon see green resident evil orc monsters with giant boobs and hardly any clothes on.

BTW. Soul Calibur 4 features Darth Vader? i first thought this would be a really bad nerdy joke but damnit, it really features darth vader!

Soul Calibur 2 was fun, character design was very well done there and the bonus characters were acceptable, but darth vader??!!?

My guess is that this is either a joke, or a bonus character that has to be unlocked. Nothing bad about that.

...too bad I'm all for the Wii :(

Actually, Games Radar pretending. I didn't hear something about Street Fighter IV whole 2007 year. Fallout 3 was discussed at each game forum.

Maybe in Russia, Street Fighter IV has been pretty big news here, and I guess it might have an angry kamikaze fanbase in Japan.

So, we don't want F3 to be true to the original, but just awesome?

Someone's really clueless.

Hmm... April and May - concept arts, rumors etc. June - first teaser and preview. July-September - previews, previews... After that, official site, dev interviews, Perk Contest (that suck), couple of ugly scrennies.
Don't be asinine.

One question - how can they say anything about the game, basing on the first location and few screens? Man, I think I can see the conspiracy set in motion, or the so-called "hype". Too bad we can't rely on our main source of knowledge about games we haven't played. No wonder less and less peole want to buy PC games x\

I like to consider it counter-hype, it's not hard to cut Beth's BS with a knife these days, and Spore's a pretty big piece in work (despite the agonizing push backs that are almost reminiscent of HL2's status of almost becoming vaporware). I have not heard once, of anyone throughout the gaming communities here in the 'peg who is actually looking forward to Fallout 3 who isn't a beth drone.

He(double hockey sticks) I could probably count the amount of people in my area that even took notice of the game when was published in the gaming trash mags nearby, as nobody bloody well buys the things.

The local convenience stores only carry 2-3 and usually they're thumbed and put back as 80% of it is pure rubbish, the rest is ads.
