Get out of here stalkers!

Heard about it, still haven't played STALKER SoC, CS or CoP (due to shitty PC, gaming PC fried etc.) but I own them on Steam so I'll be ready. :)

I hope STALKER fans aren't disappointed with this one being multi-platform, that's a recipe for disaster with PC franchises.

This is good news, but I haven't even finished the first one, let alone bought the other two... slow down GSC, slow down!
Well, at least it comes out in 2012..

Release 2012...

My guess is: 2013-2014.

The original STALKER had several delays and was once at the point where fans did call it a second DN:Forever.
Maybe they have enough funds do it without any delays this time, we'll see.

Well, hopefully they've learned something about scope management in the meantime. You know, like not trying to cram every feature you think it's cool in a single game. :)

Hmm multiplatform... I don't really like the smell of that, but, hey,
if they don't make it a TPS, keep the free-roaming and inventory I'll be fine.
I think if they combine the atmosphere of SoC and the gameplay, style and unbuginess of CoP this will be da bomb.

Also AFAIK STALKER2 is going to be made with the Crytek 2 engine.

Stalker had first release date set on 2003, but came out in 07 - the wait was worth it. Then they cranked on one sequel a year - CS was weaker but CoP was amazing. Cannot wait for this, though I hope PC will be primary platform.

I don't like it either. Multiplatform is likely to mean no mods and mods have been gold for the STALKER games.

I still have Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat to beat, but STALKER's yet another franchise that would hurt to see dumbed down.

I'm probably going to have my ass handed to me for saying this. But I play games on both PC (my laptop which can run Clear Sky on all low [sometimes barely] and console [I own a PS3 and i'm contemplating buying xbox360]) but I kinda would like to see it on console (but who knows I might have an epic gaming pc by then, but it's doubtfully).

And just because it's on console doesn't mean the PC version going to be un-moddable (I mean Fallout 3 has mods and so does GTA IV)

Then again just my opinion . And I'm not here to start a console vs pc argument.

Hm, I thought/hoped they'd use the Cryengine 2 or 3 for Stalker 2.
Anyway, multiplatform. Great.
