Ghost towns

RE: Ghost towns resource

Dang, looks like Junktown :)

Just with less people and a few less two-headed cows.

If opera is considered entertainment, then I consider falling off a building a mode of transportation.

Ah I love crap like this! Here in Florida we used to have an abandoned cow milking factory way the hell out in the sticks. It was the coolest place on Earth as far as I was concerned. I ever spent a Christmas morning there when the family was out of town.

I wish we had more ghost towns around here! Good thread, Welsh!

I think that finding ghost towns while exploring the Fallout universe should be a common occurance, especially if it's set in California like FO1 was.

Sure, there probably wouldn't be anybody living in them except for the occasional loony or gecko, but I think there would be pre-war tech and artifacts laying about, unless some scavengers beat you to it.

Perhaps you'll find a hidden vault door in one of the basements? Who knows?

Yeah, why don't we find any? Well probably becaus the nuclear blasts obliterated nearly everything, and the current towns (current FO-wise) are build from what they scraped together?

I think the abandonment intialy was more likely to be due to Radiation fears than building materials.

And heck, once you got something up, why change back?

I love abandoned buildings. There are a lot of them around my place from the "soviet era", my favourites are a big coal heating plant ( i have lots of pics of it, which i took recently with a friend) and an abandoned milk processing plant, with a huge orwellesque inscription on the crumbling facade: MILK IS HEALTH

(hey, i noticed there's alocation called broken hills in nevada)

You should post those pictures!

I have pictures of this place called SunnyLand in Tallahassee. Its a abandoned psych-ward for children. The scariest place I have ever seen in my entire life.

The scariest thing is the horror techno music in the background :D

Here is one of the pictures I took inside Sunnyland. Something about it is very odd. Once I entered the hallway I noticed a slight breeze that overcame me. It was a creepy feeling, but I still snapped this picture. Some people tell me I am crazy, but I know what I saw. Have a look for yourself!

I just love people that call water drops/light reflections/photoshop lighting on their pictures "ghosts" :D

Wow! Those are totally awesome, Wooz. I love the outside pic! I wish we had places like that around here.

Whoa I just noticed, this place looks exactly like the hospital in all three Silent Hill games. *shivers* Creeeeeeepy.

Yup, I love the place as well. Hopefully the city council won't tear it down until summer ( it would be better if they didn't demolish it at all), so with any luck I'll post more abandoned industrial pics ;)

Ya, Dove, its no joke man. That place is crazy creepy. When we went in the Summer I didn't go inside because of Asbestoes and I had no Hepa masks and gloves, but a few months later one of the guys I went with went in. He said the place was crazy scary. They got on the roof and everything. There are still cribs and all sorts of stuff inside.

Wooz, that place looks a lot like a mission in Socom 2. What did you say that place was? And where do you live again?
