Godfather game. Ugh. Dissapointment.

It Wandered In From the Wastes
EA dropped the ball on this one. I am very disappointed in this game. It looks and feels like a bad console port. Graphics aren’t up to par. The driving is very loose and the cars go about 0-60 in 4 seconds (unrealistic for the time period). Controls are messed up. You have to hold the RMB down and then press Q or E to punch. They sacrificed realism (MAFIA) for a more arcade feel (GTA) to the game. Mafia was a much better game than this.
 
Agreed EA really fucked this one up... (big suprise)

The game is okej, but i expected ALLOT more from it.
 
Sigh, I was looking forward to this as I greatly enjoyed Mafia and hoped for something similar. I still plan on giving this game a go and experience it for myself.


I do still hope for a sequel to Mafia someday. Does anyone know if there were/still are plans for a sequel?
 
As a fan of Mafia, i would like to know if this game is worth buying? How does it stand up to mafia's frustrating brilliance?

I played it for about 2 hours, quit, and uninstalled the game. I was having urges to play Mafia again. I probably would have played it a bit more if I hadn’t grabbed oblivion today. Is it worth buying? I think not. If you have a console I reccomend you rent this one to try it out first.
 
I have played it some more now and i really think its pretty good after all.

The gun fights are really nicely done.

Nice animations when they are hit and that you can lean around corners in the way you can really make the fights feel some what realistic. I have had some really nice gun fights.

Another plus is the faces, very nice made. Oblivion crew should have a look at this :) also the main plot has some nice missions.

Also, Illusion Softworks doesn't have any plans for a sequel. There are tons of mods for the game, though. City of lost dreams or something is a pretty good one that adds a whole lot onto the game.
 
It's a whole bunch of mods made by smaller developers combined together in a big pack.

There are a whole bunch of new weapons (car bomb ftw lol), interiors for important buildings, etc. They added rival and allied gangs, street races, several new missions, the ability to collect protection money, etc. You can even become Don of the whole city, if I recall correctly.

Basically, it adds a whole lot not only in the way of content, but features too. Quite an awesome mod, if you ask me.
