Good Old Games Loves Fallout

And so should you. To celebrate the announcement of Fallout: New Vegas, GOG.com decided for a Fallout retrospective, of the kind that's actually interesting. The very first editorial is about the original Fallout, featuring comments from two of its fathers:<blockquote>[Tim Cain:]"I loved going to rescue Tandi from the raiders, but I never took her home to her father," says Cain. "Instead I gave her a weapon and dragged her all over the wasteland as an involuntary recruit. She was a pretty good shot too. I took her anywhere but back to Shady Sands, even though she complained a lot, and I think she died somewhere in the mutant base, trying to run through an electrified field. Good times, Tandi," he sighs, "good times."</blockquote>More in the upcoming days. In the meantime, if you are (for some reason) still missing either of the classic games in your collection, GOG.com has an offer for you.

Great read. They have shown the proper attitude during game development :) not the way it is today: cash and more cash from as many customers as possible, designing level is irrelevant ....

Agreed, a great read. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Can't wait for the next article.

A great read indeed.

Makes me want to gather Fallout lovers, pour everyone's glasses and just talk and joke as the glasses keep getting emptied and refilled, emptied and refilled, emptied and refilled ....

...and then you take advantage of them?

I can only repeat that, it's a great read. It's great reading about the experiences with the actual game from the developers.

Wow that was indeed a funny read, I am hoping since Scott Everts is one of the designers from the old previous fallout's we will see some familiar places in Fallout:VG?

Fallout is apparently 6th best selling on GoG this week, I wonder when it was updated.

Also, Freespace 2 at number 3, nice.

As for places, it's doubtful, since well, it's taking place in Vegas, not in any of the FO1/2 locations.

It's in Nevada though, near the west cost. Close enough to have direct relevance to the evens in F1 and 2.
