I always had a problem with both games, in that, for a post nuclear holocaust, there seems to be an over abundance of heavy weaponry sitting around...I always thought finding a gun (and ammo) should have been a real treasure indeed...but in both games they're a dime a dozen in fact, in F2, you can load up on hardware easily by killing Tubby and Flick...PLUS, you dont get bad karma from doing so....you can build up a nice pile of guns for any situation or NPC.

However, I have a few suggestions on making the guns a little bit better and more realistic. 1st of all, there needs to be shotgun slugs...these would do much more damage and have much better range than shot.....conversely, shot should hit multiple targets, especially at close range, and if many enemies are standing right next to each other...what good is the shot gun, the sawed off shotgun, and the H&K CAWS? none really....damage
isnt that comparable to the other guns...I gave Cassidy a hunting rifle when i first got him....then a sniper rifle, and finally the Gauss rifle...he really rocked with all those weapons.
also, Ive noticed that the hollow point and AP rounds werent really that different. I shot a raider wearing metal armor with a 10mm AP round, and it did about 3 damage, thats pretty shitty considering in the next round, he fired a 10mm hollow point at ME (wearing metal armor MKII) and it did 7 damage) doesnt add up does it?

I would also like to see burst capable guns being able to sweep instead of straight line fire...suppressive fire...cover fire....

NPC's should be controlled by player, just as his own character is (how many times did Sulik charge into the middle of a fire-fight with a knife?)

even with the enhanced AI and options for NPC's they are still quite dumb. Cassidy seemed to be the only exception...he always did what needed to be done....rarely missed...criticaled a lot (he loves rifles) and didnt run headlong into a pack of gun toting freaks. He made intelligent and tactically sound combat descicions...*shrug* anyways, more comments on the way...stay tuned.

You think Sulik is Dumb!? You ever tryed out IAN in Fallout1 ??
If you haven`t and decide to, here are some rules concerning IAN an FireArms:

1. Do not give him SMGs
2. Do not stand less than 20 hexes away from him when he fires
3. Do not give him SMGs
4.Do not rely on him to hit that Scorpion standing next to him.
5. Do not give him SMGs
6. Do not rely on him to hit anything.(exept You)
7. And for all thats good and holy!! DO NOT GIVE HIM SMG´S

have to agree on this point, i was rather dissapointed, when i first played the game i bought a pistol & though "wow, i must have done some really right to get it this early", 4 hours later i had stolen a bozar & the game was easy from there on in....

it would only be useful in real-time... imagine how annoying it would be in turn-based if the enemy kept doing suppression fire & you lost all your AP's every single turn & couldn't do anything...

sulik is a hot-headed tribal, it fits in with his character. controlling the party members is a bad idea, i don't think everyone wants to be responsible for them. the main thing i liked about fallout is that you have to look out for number 1 & your party members aren't as important as you.

yeah cassidy is pretty cool, i didn't like it how marcus & vic like to shoot me with burst rather than the enemy.... i use to give marcus the bozar until he ran around behind me, & turned me, vic, sulik & myron into 4 little red chunky puddles in the desert, i guess he really wanted to be alone.... & didn't even touch the enemy
