Has anyone else grown to hate Vault suits

They're just.. overused.. and this is not even a Bethesda thing, even Fallout 2 hamfisted the Vault suit.. SOMEHOW with the whole Temple of Trials, ruining the wastelander tribal feel that I hoped the game would have when I first tried it. Ever since then almost every single time (except ironically in the two BoS oriented games, Tactics and the shit Xbox game after, you'd think THEY would utilize jumpsuits in instances of their first game considering their organization) the PC always founds himself always mandated a vault jumpsuit, its annoying. Even in Fallout: NV, the game that finally absconded the connection to any Vaults concerning the PC specifically, your still jacked into receiving a jumpsuit. I've really, really, really grown to hate jumpsuits. It's even making some of that hate seep into Vaults themselves, only albeit slightly.

Yea, sort of. It feels so...useless? I mean I guess armored variants are useful very early on but even Leather Armor gives it a run for its money most of the time, then you upgrade to Metal or Combat Armor....

But... How could it be Fallout if it doesn't check everything on the list?

[X] Super Mutants
[X] Ghoul racism
[X] Pipboy
[ ] Vault suit
[X] Vaults to explore
[X] BOS
[X] Enclave somewhere in there
[X] Caps as currency
...
..
.

See how wrong that looks, Fallout can't be Fallout unless it regurgitates the same iconography with every installment.

The longer you are a Fallout fan the more you will learn to hate it's constituents.

No. I still really enjoy them visually. In fact, the "Armored Vault Suit" seen in Fallout 1, 3 and NV is one of my favourite protagonist aesthetics full stop. I think mandating every character beginning with one is perhaps odd, though I always liked Van Buren's way of handling it with the Prison Jumpsuit.

One of the things I liked conceptually about 4/76 was being able to use the vault suit as under-armor and layer armor on top of it, but those games have generally garbo art-direction so even the leather armored variant looks crap.

I feel that they're too iconic for their own good to the point of being shoehorned in everywhere. As much as I like NV even it felt the need to come up with an excuse for you to start with a pip-boy and vault suit arbitrarily. At least you're not an actual vault dweller which is an even bigger pet peeve of mine.

How can anyone hate something that gave birth to such beautiful real life garments:

The middle picture where it looks like it's been discarded in a serial killer's basement was always that extra touch that really solidified the humor of it all.

I like how gay they are. I like how boobs and ass jiggle around in them. I like how going into the wasteland makes them less gay and less jiggly.
