Help me find a game please.

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
There's this one game I played a demo of once. It was a 3D first person thing. The graphics weren’t all that great, kind of blocky.

Basically, the premise was you were on the internet, and each site you went to was a 3D place you walked around in. There were security programs, which were these robot things, that chased you if you were breaking rules and shooting people and stuff.

Anyway, if anyone can remember the name of it, I'll sure be grateful, because I'm almost positive it's abandonware by now. In fact, I don’t know if the full thing was even finished.

No, I don’t think so. The game I'm trying to find had much more colorful environments. I think I remember quite a lot of yellow walls.

The whole demo I played of it took place on a 3D “Internet”. I think you had to “hack” different sites by screwing with different blocks that are floating around in the 3D site which I think were just blocks of data and these robot things would come after you which I think were security programs.

Thanks anyway though.

Well, this sounds a lot like Tron, except Tron isn't "blocky" and it most definitely isn't abandonware.

What "drugs" were you doing when you "played" this "game"?

It sounds like Ratty found a way to turn hacking into a virtual reality simulator.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

System Shock?

Sys shock was much earlyer I thought so I never mentioned it. However, what about System Shock Two? I never got it to work on my system but year wise that is right on.

No, I'd think I'd know if it were System Shock 1.

The entire place took place on a 3D internet.

Yeah, it was a lot like Tron, but it's MUCH older. Like around 1996.

I remember playing a game called Lightspeed, that was a lot like Tron, but I think it was just a demo that came with a magazine or something. That must have been around 1996.

No, it's not Omikron. I have Omikron and I can safely say that's not it.

The game took place on a 3D internet!!!!!

Also, the game WAS 3D.

I'm 93% sure that it actually existed.

Also, it wasn't lightspeed.

Well it doesn't look like I'll find it. Thanks anyway guys. :?

Mybe you got drunk and high, played Duke Nukem for a while and then tried out one of those 3D shells for Windows and then fell on your head in a drunken stupor? Perhaps?
