How to make a smoking pipe?

Stg Granite

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Tried to find this around the internet but didn't find much. This is my last shot.

Recently I decided to make a smoking pipe. But I have some doubts about which material to use, what would be a preferable scheme, etc... hm... I've heard that depending on what it's for, the pipe should have certain characteristics. Well, it's for smoking cannabis. Any guess?

About the material, what do you think of epoxy? Would it release some harmful substance when heated? Is there a chemist around here?

Cement cylinder, line it with trashbags, lower five hundred pound cylinder about oneself, cover top with industrial thickness metal sheeting, ignite rubber tires (lack of mention) about oneself.

A friend made a smoking pipe and i had it for a year, i love pipe smoking. He made his pipe out of wood, i don't know what kind, but it was normal wood, not that compressed sawdust crap furniture is made out of.

He made a cylinder which he emptied on the inside, making it look like a 50 ml vodka glass. Then he drilled a small hole in the side, near the bottom, where he stuck a wooden tube, i don't know how he managed to do that. He said he used a pencil and took out its graphite rod.

All of the above were accomplished while semi-drunk with a pocket knife. I would suggest you buy a smoking pipe, it'll give tobacco a better taste and there's no risk in cracking or braking your pipe.

that shouldn't be hard at all, find a small tree of suitable spiecies, cut of a part with a branch (as shown on the sketch). then drill holes and shape it on the outside according to preferances, abilities, etc.

Keep in mind that I don't smoke, at all, I just know how to make things of wood. This is just how I suppose a pipe looks like inside.

Yeah, only it's made out of two parts, the bowl should be separable from the mouthpiece, so one can clean the pipe after smoking.
Also the whole between the bowl and the stem should be really thin, or thinner than pictured, or you'll get tobacco and char on your tongue.

heh... There might not be risk of cracking or braking but... once, a smoking pipe melted while I was using it. It was made of a kind of resistant plastic.

Thanks... for some reason I didn't think it was so simple.

Yeah, this is the complicated part.

you mean a bong or a tabacco?

for tobacco, you use meersham wood for the stock, usually some kind of ivory for the mouth piece

I mean a smoking pipe for grass. Not a bong.
I don't smoke tobacco. Well, not that I ever tried it.
But I saw that Blackut referred to a bong.

Why do you want to make a pipe to smoke pot? You can buy pipes for a couple of bucks, nice little glass ones, for instance. Why would you want to go through the difficult process of making one if you basically know it'll be less good than one you buy?

Because potheads like to do crazy shit like that, but usually run out of the motivation before accomplishing said task. I am a victim to this.

So, that's why. Also, I suppose a cheap smoking pipe costs at least R$40 (around 18 dollars), which is an amount that I can't afford (not for this purpose). And of course, there's that "made by my own hand" status.

just get plastic bottle cut a hole in it put a piece of hose in it then make sure its air tight out a cone piece which you can make out of al foil and then put another small hole at the back of the bottle oposite of the hose and voila you have yourself a bong all u gotta do is put enough water in the bottom to cover the hose bit inside the bottle works good takes out alot of the tar and crap that is in your weed mix that is if you put spin in your mix

Chemistry

Don't smoke out of plastic. Don't smoke out of foil. You can make a pipe out of wood, but make sure it isn't treated with chemicals. Glass is really the safest because everything else is going to release at least some amount of chemicals when heated to the temperature of a butane lighter; plastic and foil release a lot at this temperature.

It also puts in good toxic plastic fumes, hurray!

You can afford pot but you can't afford a pipe to smoke it in? Doesn't make much sense. If you don't have enough for a pipe, why don't you just roll joints. Rolling papers are pretty cheap
