Huricane Irene is going to herald the beggining of Kali Yuga

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
So how did the east coast NMA-ers prepare for this imminent threat?

we stocked up on tons of water and gas.

Made sure my existing food storage is good, smiled, and will fill up with gas as they will jack up the prices. Sometimes Mormonism has its bonuses, even if with my gun collection and LDS food storage I might appear as a crazy survivalist.

Hey, I find this offensive it isn't just the east coast going to affected, here in England, we may receive light winds and rain, DAMN IT I WANT MY SUMMER!

People dressed for summer today, they suffered so bad. You would think living in Blighty your whole life would mean you always dress for rain, shower, small portable hurricanes that mess with the petunias and the odd hail shower in August.

Kali Yuga sounds like a yoghurt.

I always dress for summer, three-quarters and t-shirst are my thang bro. Kali Yuga? Yeah it does sound like a yoghurt, one of those bowel poo-poo yoghurts though. Off-topic much?

Eh, the end of the world is a pretty bowel poo-poo event

Indeed, indeed it is, although, the end of the world, i'll definitively need to get that on a t-shirt, imagine it now, "End of the World, 2012!".

I bet it will be just another strong t-storm but I'll pick up a gallon of water and some pistachios on my way home tonight.

When the hurricane hits the east coast of America, I may have to stock up on three bottles of Irn-Bru, as the rain batters my poor little town, you New Worlders, with your darn dang nabbit hurricanes, pestering our little honest English towns with your light rain and breeze.

Haha I'm right in the bullseye of this thing. We haven't had a big storm in decades, so all the trees and plants have had time to fill in. Sustained 70+ mph winds will screw us all. Power will be knocked out everywhere.

I'm a thousand miles away so all I had to do was, you know, nothing. Good luck to people though, may your god of choice be with you

We're supposed to prepare? I just found out about this. Might go buy some snack-food of choice and a 6-pack tomorrow morning if I manage to accidentally wake up early enough.

The only thing I'm really scared of is a power outage, cause the books I ordered last week haven't arrived yet and I'll have nothing to do to kill my time :(

EDIT: Oh, also:

Didn't realize how seriously some people took this shit. A store below my gym was getting boarded up completely, with actual nails and mexians and shit. I stopped by a grocery store afterwards and the line was insane. Some rows were completely cleared out and of course the assholes got all the water. Either they will all feel really dumb tomorrow or I will. I live in NYC by the way.

Better safe than sorry. I assume this wont be too bad but it is good to take precautions

I'm being thankful I live in Michigan. It's the first time I've done that in a while.

Yeah apparently. Quite silly, really. I planned a grocery run this weekend and now I'll probably have to wait till next week >__>

Right on! \m/

I'm on the west coast of Florida, so I just have to deal with rain and a little wind. I haven't had a proper hurricane in almost a decade. I kinda miss it.

Hehe, it's a good thing forces of nature don't have the balls to attack Europe. If anything could bring Gaia to her knees it's our bureaucracy.
