I don't get how to use the bag that you find in Modoc...

So, I just found the bag in Modoc (Fallout 2 By the way) And I have no clue how to use it. The bag is supposed to hold items right? How do you put them in it?
 
I believe you can drag them onto the bag to put them in it.

But a fool-proof way would be to put them in hands, Use (right -click, hold left button over bag, select hand) the bag, then put items from hand into the Bag's inventory (it acts like a container of sorts)

In some conditions the Bag lets you cheat certain scripts and keep items you'd normally lose or get extra items. Refer to Per's Guide on the site or search the forum for "bag bug" or "bag trick".
 
Course, you can also simply drop certain items before starting the conversation that triggers the search script, then pick them up again afterwards.
 
bags are useful in the way that you cram items into it that you dont often use. this is a big plus when scrolling through your inventory, as FO1/2 inventory & barter management isn't all that useful really.
