I think I have the shitty censored Fallout 1 version.

First time out of the vault
So they were giving Fallout 1 away for free at GoG. At first it seemed strange as I noticed the lack of children, so I patched that and included children again.

Then I started noticing other things missing. Such as language. I made sure my language filter is off but I have yet to see a vulgar word. I even saw someone say "%#@!" instead of just shit and my language filter is off. I also noticed the lack of sexual themes.

How can I get an uncensored version, I am tired of playing this shitty censored crap. I checked and I didn't see an uncensored fallout 1 patch mod.
 
At least it was free. I'd feel like I'd been swindled if I'd payed for a Fallout game without swearing.
 
I never noticed this in my Fo1 GOG version (well except the children). You sure you deactivated the language filter?

/Edit: If it is, then go into installation dir /data/ and create one empty file called "badwords.txt" and now check if it's still censored in the game. If it is, then your problem is not the language filter option but the normal text files- and I have big doubts that GOG has edited them.
 
There had to be a catch with this version err. :roll: They should have removed all of the bloody death animations as well.

I noticed that there was no children as well. I think the version that GOG uses might be the UK version, because the children patch adds them back in.

Where should there be swear words in FO1? It doesn't seem censored to me.

You could try running down to the doctor in the cathedral then, or maybe doc morbid or gizmo in junktown if you haven't killed them too
 
Well, I had a chat with Doc Morbid and Gizmo, and I didn't notice any cursing there. What should they say, and how do I deactivate the language filter?

I guess I just chose the wrong language paths for Doc Morbid and Gizmo then.

Do you have a problem with the game crashing? Mine keeps crashing.

Well, I just had a talk with Sinthia after saving the ungrateful bitch from that raider.

After calling me a "little shit", I would say that I don't have the censored version after all.

They're in there. I can assure you that you didn't download a different version from the game than everyone else. It's a huge game, get out there and explore. Loads of naughties to feast your eyes on, I promise

There's not too many in the first game when compared to the later games. You could probably count on one hand the number of sexual references and relationships you can encounter in the game.
 
From memory, there's a pro in Junktown, and you can make fruitless advances on Tandi and a guard in the Brotherhood of Steel, and that's it.
 
Don't forget the crimson caravan woman who tests you out if you meet certain stat requirements. Also, I've not played as a woman for nearly a decade but I recall a dude or two willing to wrestle as well.
 
So what is the full list of whats missing and any patches to restore besides the children one?

I have heard dialogue is altered or gone. (reports range from entire missing trees to small word swaps like addiction to craving and drugs to chems) Allegedly some even more over the top violence is toned down somehow but that it was probably just the german version not gog's uk one. Scattered alarming rumors of quests possibly gone?! Nothing seems concrete tho, just the kids bit. Figured if anywhere had the real info it'd be NMA.

I bought it $6 before finding out about this shit. and I agree with
