Ian is infamous!

MethidParadox

Still Mildly Glowing
Somebody remembers fallout on RPGCodex... thought that was kinda cool...

btw, did i use the word infamous correctly?

Friendly AI is Ian from Fallout

it actually worries me to be around any of my NPC allies, because they have a tendency for very stupid mistakes. Quite often, you may find yourself being shot in the back, usually resulting in instant death. Or worse, one of them decides to throw a grenade and it bounces off the back of your head, killing your entire party. Quick Saving is the rule of the day. It wouldn’t be so big an issue if save games didn’t take an entire minute to load up, though. You’ll be losing minutes at a time reloading from mistakes made by the stupid AI.

It doesn't take me minutes to load a savegame... thanks to Quicksave/load I've been able to steal almost every friggin Stimpack, round of Ammo and Bottlecap in Shady Sands, Junktown and The Hub.

Can't wait to go to The BOS...

And about Ian, every time I get caught stealing, and they start combat, I kick/shoot Ian and then Quickload... I just love doing that :P

Well if not, he's a bit confused since Ian (or any NPC in Fallout for that matter) can't use grenades in the first place.

I remember the first time I ever played Fallout and gave Ian my second SMG I found. I was alternately shocked, amused, and annoyed at all the reloading I had to do from being cut to pieces by him, but overall I found it mostly funny.

To this day, whenever I'm playing Fallout and know I need to load a save anyway for some reason (or just get really borred) I walk up next to Ian and use a burst or an eye shot on him for payback before reloading just for kicks. ;)

Thank God, I thought I was the only mofo doing that... :P

*Ahem* Topic, people?

My friend, when he was hit by Ian's shooting, would return the favor with a groin shot; before he loaded a saved game.

Ian is also useless, probably meant to be that way. Beware of who you pick up on your journey, indeed.

Speaking of similar, after Myron stopped being useful, he also shared Ian's fate. Ian got executed with a .223 to the head, while I would try to prevent Myron from reproducing, and I missed.

All I could think of was a shitty Steven Seagull line at that point.

Which one?

Anyway, I decided to kill Myron too... we were in New Reno and I told him that if he would make one shitty remark about the lack of women in our party (for some reason Miria got lost in Modoc and I never found her again... :( ah well, at least she won't get her nice ass killed... :P)
So anyway, Myron being in the game and thus unable to hear my threat, he still said something... so me and my party went to Golgotha, where I put a .44 through Myron's head...

I was trying to steal some stuff in fallout yesterday and everytime the dude caught me i bursted him and reloaded, good stuff...

For some reason bursting him before reloading makes stealing easier... pretty nifty

Good point. :) Considering I was using a shotgun and aiming for the groin, it was from the more tolerable of his movies, Hard To Kill, but I was watching Kelly most of the time. So I will have to say that I was a bit biased in my reference to Seagull because of visual appeal.

"I missed. I never miss! They must have been smaller than I thought."
