Inserting more music into the radio station playlist

Has anybody found a way to add more songs to the GNR radio playlist?

I've already read a way to replace the songs currently in the playlist, but have yet to see someone finding a way to actually insert more tracks into it. While the songs currently on that playlist are pretty good, even they get on mah nerves after a while... And replacing those ten songs or so with ten other songs would just yield the same result...

How can they do something this blatantly stupid?

I mean, they make the athmospheric music very easily moddable (they're MP3's in folders, FFS) - yet they make it unable to add tracks to the radio playlist?

GTA did that like, ages ago...

I'm sure it will be easily modded once there's a CS out. Until then however it would likely be difficult to add tracks. Replace them, possibly using the same file names and invalidating older files, but you'd need to find the file names, obviously.

As of right now you can replace any tracks you don't like.

For example, if you want to replace Butcher Pete with A Kiss to Build a Dream On, put it in data/sound/songs/radio/licensed, name it "mus_roybrown_butcher.mp3", and then create or edit a file named ArchiveInvalidation.txt in your main dir and put in the line
sound/songs/radio/licensed/mus_roybrown_butcher.mp3

plus make sure fallout.ini in My Games is edited to allow file replacement

Oh, I almost forgot. A couple of industrious people on the official bethesda boards realized that you can add in "new" songs by cutting two mp3s into one file, one right after the other.

I gotta' admit, hearing the same playlists for the fiftieth time in a row does begin to grate on the ol' nerves. They're excellent songs, but just because Bethesda didn't spring for the rights to more doesn't mean that we shouldn't get 'em... whatever it takes.* For that matter, I wouldn't mind the ability to make our own radio stations, like a foil of Three-Dog and Galaxy News Radio who lauds evil accomplishments between his songs. Naturally, it would be necessary to give that radio station their own base of operations, NPC's, and quests. I hope the tools to do all of the above are on the way.

There should be a quest where you could find CD's or usbsticks with music you could give to Three Dogs. And so his music would increase. (I really expected to have a quest like that in the first place.....)

Have a nice glowing day..........
