Let me get this straight: the New Vegas lead QA guy is someone hired a year ago whose only experience is with the notoriously faulty-at-release Fallout 3 DLCs?
i was just thinking the exact same thing... this is why we aren't assured quality.

Obsidian and Feargus Urquhart have a long, long history of badly negotiating the length of development time and then screwing up planning their features so they have time enough to design and polished.

I hope they've learned but after so many times of doing it, it seems an idle hope, and I fully expect a bug-filled mess.

Maybe the publisher will be reasonable and give them more time if they ask. But they do need to learn time-management skills.

You can't blame the publisher for not doing so. I know people like to do that, but a contract is a contract.

On the other hand, publishers are responsible for the state of the game upon release. If possible, they should take the game from such studios, polish it in their own QA, and release. That seems the most reasonable course.

SEGA is really getting pissed off at Obsidian from what I hear, what with both Aliens RPG having progressed too slowly and Alpha Protocol not being what they expected AND taking longer.

Bethesda aren't particularly good publishers. But they do value the Fallout license. We'll see how it goes.

What did SEGA expect from Alpha Protocol?

Anyway, SEGA has two other Aliens-related games coming out (Aliens vs Predator and Aliens: Colonial Marines) this year. They can wait.
