It seems that Interplay is slowly getting itself out of the shits.

Damnit. Now Troika will really never get that Fallout license.

It's essentially paperwork for the SEC required when reporting an event that could have positive or negative effects on shareholder value.

They paid off with the Fallout deal, i see. Well hope they pay the employees, i still don`t believe they will be around much longer.

oh well, at least herve didnt waste all the money buying croissants...

but still, even after this cash injection, i find it hard to believe that they will survive the long term without getting a steady inflow of money, or do they think that the sales of their backcattalog will be enough to keep the company alive? (let's hope not, or else Fool could see the light of day)

Interplay is like one of those stubborn turds that refuse, flush after flush, to be entombed in their porcelain grave.

Well, from the looks of it, Fallout 3 may be the plunger that does the job. If they think that the fans are going to be happy with Fallout: A First Person Experience, then they have got another thing coming.

You'd think the crucifed Chuck Chuevas in the wasteland would give them the hint. (Both Bethesda and Interplay)

Don't break something that isn't broken!

They should tell these companies that they shouldn't be smoking weed on the job.

Teehee.

And xax, while bethesda can use the Fallout theme, I don't believe they own the license... I think thats still in interplays hands. So if interplay went bankrupt... troika could still acquire it? Not 100% sure on that though so don't hold my word as truth.

It looks like you're shooting your own foot here.

If we can avoid this kind of generic, uninformed statement we could give a better impression, and get better response from the devs. That way we can try to get some of our ideas in the game, and, maybe, avoid it being made the first person we all fear so much.

Assuming there's no "late charges" on rent, the back rent Interplay owes is $900k now.

You're right. I was too generic.

I know that I'm just repeating what everyone's been saying. But what they have planning is not what people want, it's not what I want either. I don't want some real-time strategy, first person, empty game. I want Fallout. I want isometic, I want turn based, and I want special.

And I completely went off this topic. I shouldn't even be talking about this in this thread.

On-topic: Even if Interplay gets out of their rut, they'll still be stained for a long time. It will take a lot of time, if ever, for them to get back to their former standing. A lot of people hate Interplay, especially over how they whored Fallout. And that will affect their future for a long time to come.

I am not in the know, I simply take in what I read from all over the place. And from this simple visitors perspective, Interplay's fucked.

And I didn't even take into account all the debts they have, which pretty much spells doom for them anyway, from my perspective atleast.

Shockingly, this is actually a mildly intelligent deal. Distribution of Dark Alliance II was the only valuable revenue directly available to Interplay.

Shocker that they got it. Wonder why Atari went for it after all

Too bad that Champions of Norrath came out by now which really kicks BGDA's ass...

Money. And without the Fallout name (FOOL doesn`t count, everyone is laughing at that prospect in the industry) they aren`t worth much, so bleeding them and then getting their assets isn`t so atractive anymore.

Yes. BethSoft has a license to use the IP of Fallout, not the complete rights to the franchise. If I'Play does go bankrupt the Fallout IP would likely be one of the assets put up for sale or auction.
