Good riddance, I say. A company that released titles ranging from mediocre (Deus Ex: Invisible War) to abysmal (Daikatana) can only expect to be eventually shut down. Remaining employees have been transferred to Crystal Dynamics, who are working on a new Tomb Raider game (NO, NO MORE! PLEASE, NO MORE!!!). It remains to be seen how Eidos will assrape the Deus Ex license now that their chief rapists are gone. And yes, I know that original Deus Ex was an accidental masterpiece.

Ion Storm Austin made both DX games and worked on Thief3, not Daikatana, wich was created in the Ion Storm Dallas studios, wich were closed years ago.

The idea of a developer dumbing down a sequel of a successfull game and going down reminds me of Interplay...

Irony: a bunch of boobs are sent to work on a pair of tits as fake and one-trick pony as themselves. :D

 They are fake? Damn, all my teenage dreams are now shattered.

It's amazing how hard it seems for people to grasp the difference between the two IS studios. Especially with the well documented demise of Romero's studio.

I shant miss this one too much either, not after they butchered DX and Thief.

Both teams had "EIDOS WHORE" stamped into their foreheads, and that's good enough for most people to consider them all one collective that managed to create a couple of halfway decent fluke titles. :D

Don't forget one of the most impressive games from all time; Deus Ex (the first one).

At least, they released the Thief 3 editor

I know of those websites, it's just been too little time since the Editor has been released. It will be a while before something of quality is finished.

Dudes, what's not to love about Laura Croft's breasts. Afterall, why not sell to the purient desires of adolescent boys and virgin geeks.

Yes, good bye. Another one bites the dust.

ION storm actually did good games in their youth. some really uniqe and inventive game-play types.

pretty much once they did Daikatana they went downhill.

*blinks* BWAHAHAHAHAH!

That would be ONE game. Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3, their first sleeper (s)hit. That was in 1998. Then along comes an overrated FPS game with a skill and stat system, which was released in the same year as Daikatana. Other than that, they had some miracle with Anachronox, but have been overhyped shit otherwise.

pretty much once they did Daikatana they went downhill.

So that leaves one game that was pretty much unremarkable, unless you go by the "Oh, yes...Romero worked on Quaek!!!O11OLOLO!" mentality.

Sigh, anachronox was a wonderful game. Had me laughing more than anything I've played since. The first time the world appears before you, ready to join your cause, I was in stitches. Sigh, I never finished though. And it gave me so many bloody disk errors before i finally managed to get the game running.

errm.. didnt ION Storm do the RTS game.. like clouds over nimbus or something?

i had it and it rocked... very fun game-play. lots of inventive ideas in that game.
