Is Brian Fargo working for Bethesda too?

Duck and Cover reports that while it is speculative at this time, the fact is that InXile Entertainment claims to be making a game for Bethesda Softworks. Said Brian Fargo, regarding his recent tour of Europe, that was to promote:
our game that we are doing for Bethesda that has been under wraps for a couple years.
It has been made known by Brian since at least June 2007 that inXile intends to make a Wasteland sequel, and they had the copyrights secured since 2003. While the intellectual property for Wasteland is hopefully safely away from hands of Bethesda, it is unknown at this point whether this developed game is being made independently or has any connection or bearing on the upcoming Wasteland 2.

Or is Bethesda striving for a postapocalyptic monopoly? At this rate, they will be sending us paychecks soon ;)

Will the raping ever stop? Please someone tell me Bethesda has no interest in Wasteland ...

Awesome. I'll waste less time playing games and maybe finally start doing something useful! Hey, Beth taking over the gaming market isn't quite so bad!

Good point. I haven't found a decent game in a very long time.
And all my favorite series are being flushed down the crapper.
Even Command & Conquer had to take it up the ass for CnC 4.

Wasteland 2 in Fallout 3 style. Ha!

Would be very uncool.

Ironically, some of the best games I've played in the last 3 years were Japanese H-games/RPG hybrids. It seems like the devs of porn games put forth more effort while developing RPG gameplay that those who get paid lots more to make AAA titles.

Wouldn't Wasteland be a direct competitor to Fallout New Vegas? Especially when they are doing press tour just after FNV hype began.

I tell you it's game unrelated to Wasteland or Fargo is joking to piss Fallout fans ;).

same here... i'm a maniac of computer games but since 2004 i haven't finished any new title.........

Well we all already know that Hell has turned into a big block of ice a long time ago.

Bigger question is, will Inxile actually finish a game this time?
I don't recall any release of theirs since The Bard's Tale.

Their big title was Hei$t but Codemasters decided to drop that after release dates kept being postponed.

I consider myself a big gamer too, though I have finished games after 2004. (does that damage my status :P ?)

But to say that I have been truly wowed by most of the games I decided to try out, no.

Either I am becoming old or games from before 2004 were better in some ways.

I'm waiting for them to come over here to this forum one day to write how they finally pwned the hardcore fallout community. -.-

I tell you, it's a conspiracy, ya really! ;)

Sometimes (read: all the time) I get the feeling I'm the only one who doesn't work for bethesda :(

I honestly can't possibly see a company change Wasteland's gameplay to something similar to Fallout 3's.

It must be turn based, right? Right guys? Guys?

I prefer to call this news 'gossip', but I guess it wouldn't be a bad move from Bethesda. Makes sense. No more competition.

Hey, it's bad for gamers, but it's good for Bethesda/Zenimax, no?

Not necessarily. It all depends on how involved B-soft is with the actual development process of the game.

Maybe they want to market the future Fallout games as "from the same publisher that brought you quality postapocalyptic titles 'Rage' and 'Wasteland 2'"

;)
