So considering the state of the world economy, and everything that has happened recently in world events, I have a question for NMA...

Since the United States owes vast amount's of money to China is it impossible for the USA to declare a "BS" war on China like we have to other's in the past ( Vietnam and Iraq in my humble opinion) for some bogus reason? Is that possible politically or not?

Would the resulting War wipe out that debt or does it stick around? Could the USA say "You attacked us so we don't owe you shit.", with a false-flag terror attack?

I guess I'm asking this:

If China "Allegedly" attacked the USA would the USA have the right to say we won't pay you back your loan money?

I know there would be numerous other reasons for the War like Resources,"Alleged Terrorist Acts",but I am curious specifically on how Economic policies would be affected.

I don't know how diplomatic relations and economic policies would work after a war like that, so I'm honestly curious and am not proposing that this will happen.

Any thought's guys?

If the United States declares such a war it would be so incredibly, irredeemably stupid, that I'd probably leave. We'd lose MUCH more than we could gain. The only thing that would happen is China and the USA would wreck each other.

Doubt that, the US (or China, less likely) is probably going to fail. You know, currency has no importance, nobody buys it, inflation, it fails and they go behind China.

Nowdays, a war is very unlikely. Nobody wants to fight. There's not enough problems that cannot be solved through talking, or pressure.

Iraq was necessary if only to stop Uday Hussein doing his thing

That "man" was a monster. And needed to be ousted.

And the US wouldn't do that. We are to "tight" with China ATM

China is smart enough to know they're getting rich of our debt. However, their social problems are far more likely to trigger a civil war than a global one. The first people to admit this are China's own leaders.

The most likely scenario is with the continued worldwide economic collapse the civil wars currently taking place in the middle east will sweep around the world. The EU will almost certainly collapse and be the trigger. From there it will jump to the US and we are already being asked to help bail them out through the IMF.

You have to wonder what the map will look like when everything stabilizes. How many people will die from internal warring, riots, and starving people trying to survive inside a frozen economy. I wouldn't want to live inside any major city for the next few years.

Probably very few. People seem to think that Kali Yuga is upon us whenever the economy has a downturn.

And the EU should fall. I have never seen as much racism as when I spent a semester in London.

War between the US and the People's Republic of China is unlikely because while we owe a heavy debt to the PRC, they rely on our market. Basically, if the US tanks, so will the PRC.

It's more likely at some point the U.S. will find a reason to invade mexico to help oppressed mexicans and sort of take over their oil production.

Jews have it way way waaaaaay worse than Muslims. Especially in the US. 70% of all hate crimes are anti-jewish. How many are anti-muslim? 9%. Do I think the US should collapse because some knuckleheads paint swastikas on synagogues and beat up a random rabi on the street? No. Do I think we should isolate those millions of animals in Egypt chanting "KILL THE JEWS!" while the media reports it as "this is what democracy looks like". Hell yes. They mean what they say and we should start taking it seriously.

The Muslim Brotherhood is doing a damn good job making your religion look bad.

Anti Semitism is still going strong despite it being complete bollocks.

However in a recent survey 90% of Americans would vote in a Jewish president but only 39% would vote in an Atheist one. :V

That is scary stuff actually, that atheists are viewed as amoral and unpatriotic just because they refuse to believe in an invisible big brother figure. xD

Then how do you explain Obama?

I was focusing on the jewish part of the poll, it was actually 90% would vote in a jewish, black or female president.

And I was referring to Obama being a closet atheist. I personally don't care, but he puts on a front that is so easy to see through it makes me hate him even more.

The only polling data you can find on the subject is prior to the 2008 elections. That data indicates:

95% would vote for a catholic
94% black
92% jew
88% woman
45% atheist

I couldn't find anything more recent.

Can't quite remember the exact place I found those (think it was a Skepticon piece or maybe a Pharyngula article) but it's pretty close to yours and considering the rise of the Tea Party and other weird shit it makes sense for atheists to be even more hated for... thinking apparently in 2011.

I'd really like to see how the US would fare if they had some religious far right fundie as president.
Either he/she gets things straight and America can finally grow again, or everything is ruined forever and we in the civilized world can have a good laugh.
It's win/win.

Yeah like the president really rules the country.

He's more like the PR guy..

As far as I understand the system, the president appoints people to different positions, and a religious fundie would probably assign people that would allow creationism be tought in science class and abortions to be illegal and so on.

Well, of course there had to be a full Tea Party government and so on, too.
I want the far right to have it their way, see how it works out.

It's got more layers than that. The P appoints the main people in charge but the way America is set out is that each State appoints it's own people as well who usually have the final say in what happens in that State on things like education, health care and law enforcement.
Which explains why some states such as Texas are just crap when it comes to education, healthcare and most things really.
While States can't completely go against what the government says it can twist it a fair bit.

While watching a far right government explode would be interesting it wouldn't do the country or the world much good.
