Ahoy, ye salty dogs!
There are five muties behind the factory in the mission Jefferson; many walkthroughs and guides I look upon say the game considers them innocents and killing them results in bad karma/reputation and rank. That may mean nothing for some people but there are always those who care, like me.
BUT!
I discovered that by planting some antipersonel mines very close to them (in a pattern that makes one explosion blow them all in a chain, of course) and throwing a grenade
, for some reason, their deaths don't impact the karma/rep and rank. At least it doesn't show in the characters sheet.
I even tested the same technique on those guards in the 'Uprising' special encounter, and it worked! Blew those bastard without loss of rank or rep, served them good.
Just to be sure, tomorrow I will test involving the main character, because so far I always planted the mines with Farsight and threw the grenade with Stoma.
I just hope the rep/rank isn't being secretly affected and my ending gets the evil slide...
