Am I the only one getting this game? It looks fucking awesome, the demo was great too.
I already have the LE pre-ordered. :)

Realism is overrated.

I'm glad for this after the San Andreas -> GTA IV deduction of unrealism.

The requirements state that it doesn't work on Windows XP. Is this true? I was thinking of dowloading the demo, but after reading that, I suppose it'll just be 1GB of wasted space.

I didn't like the first one, so I don't think I'll really care too much for the second.

Can you blame technology for moving forward?

Tried the demo out and got bored rather fast. The mechanics allow for some neat stunts but they quickly got old for me. I was just jumping from car to car, not knowing what to do. Maybe a bad demo but nah

^ Not supporting XP isn't "technology moving forward". Including DX10-11 support for XP would be.

Not supporting DX10-11 in XP is purely a marketing strategy IMO, but I understand if the developers are lazy enough to ditch the support for XP. They don't need to port much code because of the platform, the problem is porting all shaders to previous DirectX.

Normally, you'd need to write Pixel and Fragment shaders separately, but DX10 integrates them into a single shader.

XP isn't as dead as DOS is, so it should be supported, at least for a couple of years more.

This game looks like it will have limitless possibilities - all of them short lived and boring.

Pretty sure they said they were going to make Multiplayer DLC, because they "want to make the best single-player experience possible, and not focus on multiplayer right away".

So I got it today (pre-ordered so it came 1 day earlier than the EU release), really great game so far. I've already put in several hours and only have 8% completion.

The game is actually pretty challenging on Normal mode. "Elite" enemies and armoured helicopters are fucking tough, but it's good that you can take like 100 bullets before you die... :)

It's really just insanely dumb fun.

Looks like a lot of fun, in an insanely over the top action movie sort of way.

Maybe i'll check it out. More serious games like Mass Effect 2 have bored the shit out of me after awhile.

Oh, and Dario ff, thanks for informing me about the DX/Windows XP stuff. I didn't really know anything about it.
