Karl Malden

I know it's been a few days since he died, but I thought he deserved a thread since Billy Mays has one.

He was great in On The Waterfront. I also enjoyed him in the Paul Newman movie Harper.

I always liked his performance as Omar Bradley in Patton. Excellent foil to Geroge C. Scott's Patton. And Omar Bradley, he's a lot harder to portray than Patton. That's what happens when you have talent, depth, range, but a face like a baboon's ass - you become the "character actor" that supports the shallow pretty boys (George C. Scott notwithstanding).

I had forgotten Malden was Omar Bradley in Patton. That's a good movie but I've never been able to look at it in quite the same way since I learned that Patton's real voice was a high-pitched, whiny, Ross Perot-type deal rather than George C. Scott's actor voice.
