long load/save times

My load and save times for Fallout 2 are really long, usually around a minute, sometimes longer. Not even Unreal loads this slow on my machine (Pentium 200, Windows 98). Do other people have this problem? Can anything be done? Thanks.
 
Did you install the patch? if not, download it! It reduces considerably the load times...

Try installing it on a 'Large' installation instead of the others (Humongous included).

Ctrl-Alt-Delete all the process that are currently running and leave only 'Systray' and 'Explorer' running.
....Ctrl-Alt-Del to show the Task Bar select one by one clicking on 'Finish Task' to terminate them.

If you are using Win98, NT or Win95 OSR2, install FAT32.

Try it and tell me how it works!
 
OK, WHAT MTUX SAID COVER'S IT ALL, BUT NORMALLY IF YOU INSTALL THE HUMONGUOS, WITH NO PATCH THE GAME LOAD'S SLOWER, BUT IF YOU ISNTALL THE PATCH, THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED...
ONE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU MAY CONVERTED YUOR SAVE GAME, TRY STARTING A NEW GAME, IF THAT WAS THE CASE
(sorry about caps, but i didnt notice, and dont whant to writeit all again)

He does have a point though. People have to look at your messages to read them. It wouldn't hurt to check your spelling once in a while.
