No, it's not. I've read a book about Pyongyang that talks about that hotel A LOT, it is just an empty concrete shell. 2% of the North Korean GDP went into it, and it never went past the exterior.

Kay-o, I take back what I said.

The first picture looked phony because of the way the building rised "out of nowhere" from the smog.

Those pictures aren't worth shit. He saw only what the PRK government wànts the rich Western capitalist tourists to see - and he knows it. Everything on those pictures was built for no other reason than propaganda, and all the people on those pictures look well-fed and well-kept for no other reason than propaganda.

There's a dissident cameraman living in the PRK that occasionally manages to smuggle out video clips of the *real* PRK to the BBC, but I can't seem to find him. If you want to see what the Communist Utopia réally looks like, you should try to find them, though.
