Mass Effect 2

^ Pff, I hate that improper use of word "nonlinear" myself. Doing certain areas out of order is still fucking linear if the ending is the same! I hate this "inventive marketing" that invents things that just aren't there. It like saying all FF games are non-linear because you can explore some areas not in plot sequence..

Well there are a couple of ways in which you end the game, you blow up the collector base or just waste the collectors, do your team mates survive or not. It is kind of limited but you could argue that it has multiple outcomes or how many of your crew are you able to rescue depending on the moment you choose to go through the omega relay. So your choices do count in the end. As Bioware intends to use theese for the next installment it is somewhat understanable that they what to limit the posible choices otherwhise they might be biteing more than they can chew.

The other things you mentioned enhance the gameplay rather than detract from it - most people don't want to be limited to two guns or subjected to impossible odds that are actually impossible. Why implement a minigame if a) it doesn't make sense and b) it's banal shit boring?

Well even if annoying the damn scanning process is necessary if you whant to finis the game.....if you don't upgrade your ship you'l get blown to pices....But indeed the they could have solved it in another way, like buying the resources from mining stations which would have made more sence. Again I am not arguing that ME2 is the best game out there, but it is a good game compared to the available alternatives.

Oh the most anoying thing in this game is the aquarium, my fish always ended up belly up....I guess that was inserted just to enhace the overall "coolnes".

What I'm saying is, having a few out-of-order quests != nonlinearity. It's not the deciding factor like some people like to think.

Anyone downloaded the Firewalker DLC already?
What an mediocre piece of shit. I just miss the planet exploration from ME1. :/

At least the Firewalker pack is free. The Costume pack is just unforgivable. But I wont be getting any DLC till I can get more Xbox HDD storage at a acceptable price.

You're telling me they actually expect people to spend money on Clothing? That's almost as stupid as Dante's Inferno's 20 dollar Soul Packs.

Absolutely.

It's a blatant cash grab, but it's nothing new.

If only those clothes would look interesting, now, it looks like total crap. I mean come on, those glasses, are they serious? This is a 2h work of a trainee, nothing more.

Damn, I guess only a handful of games have offered downloadable content that actually, you know, expands the game rather than adding more 'hats' and 'coats'.

Why aren't people doing the sane thing and boycotting this crap?

Yeah. I do have to give a lil' respect to bioware in constantly dropping out free DLC. But then, this clothing pack? This really has to be a joke.

BTW, what do you think of the hammerhead, Dutch Ghost?

Regarding the appearance pack.....first of all it isn't that expensive..... second i always say that the idiot is the one that buys it not the one who sells it. It's like some intelligent Us citizens buying "genuine" Thames water in plastic PET bottles via post from London for 10$ a piece back in 04.....

Going to give it a try in a minute Surf Solar

Edit:

What the hell?
How are you suppose to collect the research.

I get the message that I need to press the right mouse button but that only toggles the camera.

Seeing as I already got a wrong message that Left Shift is Jump (that is E) this instruction is most likely wrong as well.

I have gone all over the keyboard but nothing works to collect it.

I think when installing the Firewalkerpack, also a patch is installed. And this thing messes up with the controls. If you set the controls in the menue to "default" again it should be the right mouse button.

Ugh what annoying.
They could have warned us for that.

Edit:

Well reseting the controls back to default has worked and I could finally play the damn DLC.

As for the DLC itself, well the new vehicle controls better than the damn Mako which was almost like a carnival attraction.
Perhaps the homing missiles do make the fights easier but I do not care, often they locked on other enemies than the ones I wanted to target.

The campaign itself is pretty pathetic and charging money for it would be an insult IMO to gamers.

the Kasumi DLC is gonna cost M$ points !??!?!

Oh well ! in this case i think
i'm still lucky i don't have the game !

they said the DLCs gonna be "free. "
EA s.u.x. IMHO . it's their fault .
( Sorry for bad english. )

question is do you need to "pay" to get the patches as it seems somehow conected with those DLCs ?

No, it's completely stand alone. (as new content added) and it wasn't advertised in game (like this Dragon Age shit).

I won't buy this DLC, since "Kasumi" isn't really interesting (for me).

Hilariously enough, Kasumi Goto means Mist Thief. What were her parents thinking when they named her? Were they anime fans or something?

Shit, all of ME2's DLCs suck. So I get clothes, a bounty hunter I can't take seriously because he voiced a shark in a Spongebob episode (seriously), 5 missions in a car marginally better than the Mako, and a SPACE NINJA. Thanks, Bioware.
